POPSCheri Huber: The cycle of emotional response
From American Zen teacher Cheri Huber. More: There’s nothing inherently good or bad about any of this, explains Huber. It’s just the way life happens. The hitch, she says, is that most of us have been conditioned to spend the vast majority of our active time and energy working exclusively in the final three steps. Acceptance is what teaches us to more masterfully observe the first two.… When we are not in a place of acceptance, explains Huber, our experience goes something like this: We feel a desire; we act; we develop some type of story about what happened, and generally, we find ourselves right back where we started – confronted with the same (or a very similar) desire.… "The point is not to try to judge or change or stop the cycle at any particular point," she clarifies. "It’s just to look at it and go, ‘Okay, what’s that about?’ The desire, the action, the story we tell ourselves afterward – all of it has to be ‘okay’ before any of it can change on a deep level."[/

POPS5 Things You Didn't Know About Masturbation continued.....Women who use a vibrator during masturbation tend to have better sexual functioning with a partner. ~~~~~~~~~~ 4. Masturbation can help you relax. Women are more apt than men to over-analyze a bad day and think: "How could I have done this better?" They are more likely than men, some researchers have found, to replay an argument or bad interaction with people in their head. It all adds up to excess stress. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 5. Masturbation can provide pain relief. Women who masturbate often report that it helps relieve menstrual cramps and to improve the symptoms of premenstrual syndrome (PMS), such as irritability and crankiness. Masturbating to orgasm may help migraine, too. :):):)

POPSPosture Makes Perfect: Correcting postural misalignments helps ease chronic pain
More: Back, neck and shoulder pain frequently occur when the body tries to compensate for weak or underused muscles. “Lower back pain is the most common complaint from new clients… vertigo…TMJ (jaw pain), rotator cuff problems and neck, shoulder, knee and foot pain.” He adds that while many patients are at first skeptical as to the relationship between posture and, say, jaw pain, they often feel relief after just one session. After a thorough postural evaluation from an Egoscue therapist, the client receives a “menu,” or series of exercises and stretches called E-cises. While the specific exercises often do not appear directly related to the pain site—for example, thigh strengtheners and/or an upper back stretch may be prescribed for lower back pain—they are based on the muscles that are currently moving improperly. Muscles that may be compensating or substituting for other muscles now return to performing their proper roles, which in turn relieves the pain.

POPSDo You Find This Ad Offensive? There's a big story on the intersection of social media and health today. Unlike some of its competitors, Johnson & Johnson has been experimenting with advertising directly to consumers with Facebook applications and YouTube videos. But a video ad promoting Motrin for moms who carry their babies in slings sparked an uproar from connected consumers. I'm curious to know what you think --- is this video really offensive? It's clipped above.

POPSMcCain Adviser: US 'a Nation of Whiners' I'd be completely remiss if I didn't point out that McCain's economic whiz, "Foreclosure Phil" Gramm, has left economic disaster in the wake of his career as a Senator . Enron was largely his fault and the mortgage meltdown has his fingerprints all over it, too. Not only is Gramm a dick, but he's grossly incompetent too boot. Want a supremely effed up economy? Vote McCain.

POPSUNBEARABLE PAIN and still it's illegal I have stated before that I like youtube but sometimes the comments are so ludicrous that I can't believe I share a world with so many dunderheads. This video is a very short story of a woman in so much pain she probably would die if she could. Her only relief comes from medical marijuana and she is made to feel guilty about her relief because our idiotic lawmakers pander to the ignorant and keep archaic laws on the book that punish the innocent. I swear what should be outlawed is stupidly!

POPSThe Pot Smokers Who the Government Says Don't Exist There are a lot of people out there who can't use chemical pain killers ( eg liver problems) and the medicinal marijuana works without causing much, if any, damage. Marijuana was used mainly by older people who had aches and pains. Then it became recreational and now there are strains that cause real damage.
