POPSChildbirth is now pornographic? I can understand some people feeling squimish about witnessing childbirth. IMO, being the father of 3 sons, I do not hold that position myself. In fact, this whole story screams politics. Now I don't know the legal requirements of pornography in Zambia. In the US a key element is the elicitation of sexual arousal. If that is an element of porno in Zambia than to assume that someone would be aroused by pictures of a fatal childbirth seem absurd. Additionally, the story indicates something of the cultural mindset in Zambia. Whether it is misogynistic or simply puritanical is hard for an outsider to evaluate.

POPSAnd I thought Portland was a Biking town ... But this ... this is clearly what I would call a bicyclers Capitol. I've never been to Amsterdam, although I've met several people from there, and even a missionary who went there to try and help the younger generation connect with their spiritual lives. But, I have ALWAYS been impressed with the biking culture they have there. This post, and these pictures goes a long way in describing it. Mostly, I just loved the pics, and thought you might like to see what a LOT of bikes looks like.

Brennan said she and her husband thought the woman's e-mail itself was a scam or a phishing tool used to get information about them. "It was really short," she said. "I think it said 'Urgent -- Please open about Jacob.'" When concern about their son won out over concern about their privacy, the Brennans decided to very cautiously e-mail the woman back. Turns out Jenni Brennan said that the woman's friend had fallen for an adoption scam from a St. Theresa Conception Parish which asks for $300 to start the adoption process about a year ago. And when she saw the same ad pop up again she posed as an interested adopter to see what the scammer would send back. What she got, Brennan said, was a picture of Jake Brennan, a chubby blond-haired little boy. Because the family's blog address popped up when users rolled their mouse over Jake's picture, the woman knew where to find the Brennans. Jenni Brennan said her first response was to click on the ad itself --
