If organic, don't peel unless the recipe you have chosen requires peeled apples. To prevent browning when slicing apples for a recipe, simply put the slices in a bowl of cold water to which a spoonful of lemon juice has been added. For use in future recipes, sliced apples freeze well in plastic bags or containers.

POPS You Really Cut Me Up I am having trouble with my clipping tool. Some images were clipped twice. Funny thing though, they just happened to be my favorites. This coming October's celebration of the dead, I think we should try to use different veggies and fruits to carve. Who says it;s gotta be a pumpkin? I love that little green apple!

POPSTricked out caramel apples Go to the source to see the inside of the apple. Use a melon baller to scoop out the seeds and core from the bottom. Fill that cavity with chocolate (or something else) and plug with a bit of scooped out apple. Then, dip in caramel and topping. Wowzer!

Put flour, salt and pepper in a large ziploc bag. 2. Heat oil over medium heat in a large dutch oven. 3. Place meat in bag with the flour and shake until well coated. 4. Shake off meat pieces and add them to the oil and stir until slightly browned, Add remaining flour from the bag and the finely chopped onion. 5. Stir until well browned. 6. Add finely chopped carrot and next 4 ingredients.

Jonathans have light red stripes over deep red or yellow and are slightly tart. For a quick and easy simmered fall punch, combine 2 cups apple juice, 1/2 cup orange juice, 1/4 tsp. cinnamon, and 2 or 3 cloves. Simmer on the stove for 20 to 30 minutes.
