POPSLooking For Green Men--Hacker Knocked Out Army Computers Ironically, I think the government should thank him for pointing out their idiot System Administrators aren't doing their jobs. Come on, 56k modem? Well, he doesn't deserve the 70 years he is facing.....If he gets convicted in England, he'll get no time. Hell, no one gets any more than a few years when convicted of more heinous crimes there. Amazing!

POPSWhat if, the alien, is no more than a human? These same thermodynamic arguments should also hold on Earth-like planets elsewhere in the cosmos. And if that's the case, then ET may not be so alien after all, as Higgs and Pudritz imply with the extraordinary conclusion to their paper: "The combined actions of thermodynamics and subsequent natural selection suggest that the genetic code we observe on the Earth today may have significant features in common with life throughout the cosmos." Now that's a thought....

POPSSecret Socities - Brotherhood of Snake The Secret Societies have been present in the history of man for a very long time. It all started thousands of years ago with the "Brotherhood of the Snake", a secret society set up by an alien named Ea or Enki. This story is very carefully told in the Sumerian scriptures, which go back at least 6000 years. There it says man was created by draconian aliens, who came to this planet to exploit its resources - especially gold. But the work was heavy, so the alien race wanted someone else to do the hard work. Thus Ea, who was a brilliant scientist, created homo sapiens as a hybrid between a primitive earth life-form and the alien race.

POPSAre Aliens Passing Gas on Mars? NASA seems to be keen to find out wether there are alien lifeforms on Mars such as microbes that are responsible for the methan gas in the atmosphere, or is it of purely geological origin.

POPSAlien Gnome Bandits I so want these little guys but I have not yard (ah, apartment life) & I just can't validate spending $50 for them. Maybe I'll keep them in mind & have my dad make some for me one day or maybe I'll marry a blacksmith or metal worker who can make me some. Hehe :)

POPSDoes Earth harbour a 'shadow biosphere' of alien life? "Our search for life based on our assumptions of life as we know it. Weird life and normal life could be intermingled, and filtering out the things we understand about life as we know it from the things we don't understand is tricky." The tools and experiments researchers use to look for new forms of life - such as those on missions to Mars - would not detect biochemistries different from our own, making it easy for scientists to miss alien life, even if was under their noses.

POPSAlien hunt is too exciting to ignore Well, the writer certainly has a point. There is something very basic in answering this question. Life on earth is ultimately unique as long as no alien life is discovered. And yet we strive to know that we are not alone even at the cost of losing this very unique place. Is it the primordial blessing of the tree of knowledge that makes us go there?
