POPSMYG | Nebraska's Sen. Ben Nelson
He made recent headlines for his deal making on health care reform, but will his legislative success spell doom with Nebraska voters? ___ In 1990, Ben Nelson entered the realm of Nebraska politics by running for Governor. He won the Democratic primary by only 42 votes and entered the governor’s office by besting incumbent Kay Orr by 4,000 votes. Nelson’s plan as Governor was to bridge the gaps between rural and urban areas " a “One Nebraska” " and create a “more efficient and effective state government.” These successes did not go unrecognized, for when Nelson was re-elected Governor in 1994, he attracted 74% of the vote, the largest margin of victory for a governor in half century. In 2000, Nelson ran for the U.S. Senate to fill the vacancy created by the retirement of Senator Bob Kerrey. Nelson, a conservative Democrat, carried the day even as Republican presidential candidate George W. Bush won Nebraska with 62% of the vote. ___ http://senate.gov.twi.bz/h

POPSWill GOP Call to Repeal Health Care Bill? Repealing the health care bill, however, would take more than winning back a few congressional seats. Just as the Republican minority in the Senate has stalled the current health care debate, a Democratic minority could do the same to any repeal measure unless Republicans were able to pull together at least a 60-vote majority. The GOP would also have to overcome the strong majority Democrats now have in the House. Even if they were to win both chambers back, President Obama could veto any repeal measure at least through 2012. "Anyone who thinks they'll be able to repeal ObamaCare is kidding themselves," Michael Cannon, director of health policy studies at the libertarian Cato Institute, told the Washington Independent. "If they want to stop it, they need to stop it now."

POPSHot Air: Welcome to the Obama Administration’s “New Transparency” I’m sure it is … for analysts and Fannie and Freddie workers, but I’m not sure taxpayers should share that optimism. The report states the U.S. Treasury will receive preferred stock paying 10% dividends and warrants to acquire nearly 80% of the common shares in Fannie and Freddie. However, the Treasury has already loaned $60 billion to Fannie and $51 billion to Freddie. At this point, it’s hard to believe more money is the answer. Maybe the New York Times was right: Democrats plan to talk about deficit reduction in 2010 but not do anything about it for now. Or as President Obama puts it: “Mr. Obama calls it “a false choice” to pit spending to spur the economy against reducing the deficit. His advisers say the president, and American voters, favor both " spending to create jobs in the short term, and commitment to spending discipline and deficit reduction over the long term.”

POPSChina begins 1000 km high speed rail link I recently took the 330 km/hr (200+ mph) train from Beijing to Tianjin. It is stunning, smooth, and ultra modern. Now this is real stimulus. Our U.S. administration are total idiots first by a stiulus that is nothing but political pork, and throwing good money after bad in bailing out the failing U.S. car industry. The U.S. does not have anything comparing to this Chinese train. Our infrastructure is failing badly, and we are rapidly becoming a third world country, thanks to the fools who voted in an empty suit marxist president.

POPSBlue Whale ‘Song of Death’ Warns World of 2012 Catastrophe But to what Western scientists are now noting to their puzzlingly alarm as to the changing of the Blue Whales song the World over, the Yupik shamans first noted during a 2002 meeting in Yanrakynnot, Russia when in examining the ‘strange portents’ occurring throughout the Arctic Regions of our Planet warned that only 10 years were left before the ‘Time of the Great Ending’ was upon us all again.

POPSLegal Translation of Climate Change According to German Translation workers in the United Nations, in order to meet the 2-degree target, developed nations are under pressure to agree to cut emissions by a minimum of 25-percent by 2020 and developing countries must restrain their emissions. To help the developing world, developed countries will have to provide support in terms of technology and financing. Although a binding agreement is unlikely, the European Union is proposing that a total of 100-billion Euros should flow from richer countries to poorer counties every year by 2020.

POPSIndependent commission led by former lawmakers, economists releases plan to control federal debt
The rest of the plan includes an enforcement mechanism to stay on track (featuring automatic triggers to raise taxes and cut spending if targets aren’t met), then actually stabilizing the debt in 2018, followed by continued debt reductions toward the nation’s 50-year average of below 40%. The nation’s public debt is now 53% of U.S. gross domestic product — up from 41% a year ago — and on track to become 85% of GDP by 2018, 100% by 2022 and 200% by 2038, under the commission’s projections. The group says before those levels are reached, the U.S. would likely face a debt-driven crisis in which interest rates spiral higher and squeeze out other priorities. “The tipping point is impossible to predict, but the United States is already hearing concerns about its fiscal management from some of its largest creditors, and the country is uncomfortably vulnerable to shifts in confidence around the world,” the report stated.

POPSSpiral Lights over Norway~David Wilcock~Project Camelot clip continued.. But the Illuminati's agenda could be halted by a full-scale disclosure of the ET presence, Wilcock asserted. His sources have told him that such a disclosure is planned to occur before the end of 2009, and a 2-hour international TV special has already been booked that will introduce an alien species, similar to humans, to the world. Yet, a variety of ET species are visiting the Earth, including the Annunaki, who are reptilian in appearance, and a controlling force behind the Illuminati, he continued. The entire solar system is undergoing change as a galactic wave or energy field comes in, making the planets hotter, brighter and more magnetic, said Wilcock. This wave is pushing humanity to evolve to the next level or frequency, he added. But according to his sources, a spacecraft was secretly sent out to study the wave, and it was determined it will lead to planetary cataclysm between 2012-2017.

POPSWhat A Country We Live In "For eight years, he ran the Bush administration on the sneak, unleashing a campaign of fear, warfare and wild spending that has caused the very viability of this American experiment to teeter on the brink of collapse. This was the man who claimed the office of the vice president was not part of the Executive Branch because he did not want to obey the law and hand his official papers over to the National Archive. Dick Cheney belongs in a prison cell, not in a conversation about the presidency of the United States. That we actually have people floating his name in the first place reveals just how dark some of the corners of our politics really are. Worse, these are the people whose ideals and ideology were the dominant force in government for most of this decade, so dismissing them out of hand is a truly dangerous error in judgment. Indeed, quite a country we live in."

POPSDominic Lawson: Roll up, roll up for the great Copenhagen emissions-fest And that's not counting the media flying in from everywhere. The very concept that politicians have the power to restrict climate change to 2C or 3C is as absurd as waving a magic wand. No wonder many people are skeptical about what they are doing. It doesn't change the sad facts of glacier melting, water poisoning, mass extinction, deforestation etc.etc. which are the direct consequences of industrial civilisation.
