Tom Jones - I'll Never Fall In Love Again 1969
swampfoxz
by swampfoxz  8-4-2009    1
Tom Jones - I'll Never Fall In Love Again 1969 I've been in love so many times Thought I knew the score But now you've treated me so wrong I can't take anymore And it looks like I'm never gonna fall in love again Fall in love, I'm never gonna fall in love I mean it Fall in love again All those things I heard about you I thought they were only lies But when I caught you in his arms I just broke down and cried And it looks like I'm never gonna fall in love again Fall in love, I'm never gonna fall in love I mean it, I mean it Fall in love again I gave my heart so easily I cast aside my pride But when you fell for someone else, baby I broke up all inside And it looks like I'm never gonna fall in love again That's why I'm singin' Fall in love, no, I'm never gonna fall in love Please don't make me Fall in love again

Still Second Class Citizens

“There’s a perception in Washington that you can throw little bits of partial equality to gay people and that gay people will be satisfied with that. Gay Americans aren’t just another political special interest group. They are Americans who are actively discriminated against by federal laws. If the president is to properly honor the memory of Stonewall, he should get up to speed on what happened there 40 years ago, when courageous kids who had nothing, not even a public acknowledgment of their existence, stood up to make history happen in the least likely of places."

Tom Tancredo Walks Off MSNBC Set Because Of Markos Moulitas
ratilfar
by ratilfar  11-7-2009    1
"You're not going to do that. You're not going to try to insult me that way and then pretend like we're just going on and talk about that. You either apologize ..." When Moulitas did not apologize, Tancredo simply took out his earpiece and walked away. As a Republican student activist, Tancredo spoke out in favor of the Vietnam War but did not serve. After graduating from college in June 1969, he became eligible to serve in Vietnam. Tancredo said he went for his physical, telling doctors he'd been treated for depression, and eventually got a deferment.

thus, while his Congressional cohort was tripping on brown acid in the mud at Max Yasgur's farm, Mr. Hoffman was gearslamming down the quarter mile at Fulton Speedway. Yessirree bob, this photo tells me everything I need to know about Mr. Hoffman, and I enthusiastically give him my full support. As it turns out Mr. Hoffman still loves cars, and his family is still involved in the classic car restoration business. This, I have learned, is now the basis of attack ads from his Democrat and Republican foes in the race. Which tells me everything I need to know about them .

Thus, with President Wilson alone, the Nobel Peace Prize death toll is over 50 million and counting. Occasionally the peace prize has gone to actual peace negotiators but usually, per Teddy Roosevelt, when there was nothing left to negotiate. Carlos Saavedra Lamas got his in 1936 for mediating between Bolivia and Paraguay in the Chaco War (1932-35). Both nations were exhausted, 100,000 soldiers were dead, and the Chaco was--as it had been and remains--a vast, useless weed patch. Likewise, Betty Williams and Mairead Corrigan (1976) and John Hume and David Trimble (1998)--the four of them were standing around when, after 500 years, the fool residents of my ancestral homeland ran out of ammo and beer. Of course, if you go around giving prizes left and right (mostly left) for more than a century, you're bound to give some to worthy people once in a while. With the Nobel committee this usually involves the Red Cross (1901, 1917, 1944, 1963). But the Red Cross doesn't bring peace . . .

AIM’s Kincaid Urges Fox News to Quit Shilling for Terrorists and Cop-Killer Apologist
merrie
by merrie  10-15-2009
Kincaid will also press Murdoch and his board about the publication by Harper Collins of Mark Rudd's terrorist memoir, Underground: My Life With SDS and the Weathermen, about his days in the Weather Underground. Rudd has said he got a $50,000 advance and that while some went to his agent, "the rest went up my nose for coke..." One of the members of Murdoch's board is Professor Viet Dinh, a former Bush counter-terrorism official who had fled Vietnam as a child when Rudd's communist comrades took over South Vietnam in the wake of the U.S. military withdrawal. The meeting of News Corporation, the parent of Fox News and Harper Collins, will be held October 16 at 10 a.m. at the W New York Hotel, 541 Lexington Avenue. Accuracy in Media is a citizens' media watchdog organization whose mission is to promote fairness, balance, and accuracy in news reporting. Founded in 1969, AIM is the oldest non-profit press watchdog group in America. www.aim.org.

Gaddafi's translator 'collapsed with exhaustion'
foxyarse
by foxyarse  9-26-2009    2
In his rant Gaddafi - who has not visited the UN since he took power in 1969 - read from a yellow folder of handwritten notes and spoke about Israel, the Taliban, swine flu and the US invasion of Grenada. He also suggested the Security Council be renamed the 'terror council' castigating it for failing to stop 65 wars since 1945. Another Arabic interpreter emphasised with the translator's exasperation. 'He’s not exactly the most lucid speaker. What drugs was this nut job Gaddafi on? He's a world class spacer.
