We Are Screwed!
sahara
by sahara  2-4-2008    2
And we have a congress that just cannot say NO! He is way out of control, the sixties must have been REALLY good to Bush and the others in charge of government, these are not the actions of sane, rational thinking people, you would have to either be on drugs or lost enough brain cells from their use to think this is okay!

Bush Sends Record $3.1 TRILLION Budget to Congress
blueridge
by blueridge  2-4-2008    1
Republicans are now the party of Big Government. The defense portion is higher also than any time since WWII. While Americans are pinched, the Federal Leviathan is sucking in and spending like never before, and under a republican president.

Bush Budget Would bring Record Deficit
pokkets
by pokkets  2-4-2008    2
Just look where the money is going. It makes me sick. It would be nice if it was his money. If the Democrats win next year, they will be stuck with the bad debt. Everyone will pay - But the Republicans. Where is the money going? Through the laundry, into the pockets of those at the top. We know who Many are, But there are many more Rich Cowards who stay hidden behind iron gates, with Bunkers ready to scurry into where things get out of control. And they will. History will judge them, but the people will suffer. Very little of it seems to be going towards the general public. It's being shipped overseas through the likes of Haliburton. Dick Cheney's Pet Company. Bush has declared WAR on the American People. And his cronies are laughing all the way to the Federal Reserve.

Big Taxing, Big Earmarking, Big Congress Grills Big Oil
merrie
by merrie  4-3-2008    1
(continued) will Rep. Walden agitate for lower tax rates? What about Walden’s earmarks of over $46 million? Will he think about lowering his earmarks, in light of the federal government’s record profits? * * * * * As Ronald Bailey of Reason writes: “Finally, if Congress wants to blame someone for high oil prices, blame the benighted oil producing countries that have underinvested in oil production for at least a decade. But Congressional grandstanders can’t haul the likes of Venezuela’s Chavez, Russia’s Putin, and Iran’s Ahmadinejad to their hearing rooms.” The spectacle of the House blaming the oil companies in a free market for high prices would be bizarre, if it didn’t happen so often.
