Tips for doing a ClipSearch

ClipSearch follows a similar syntax to Google Search. Individual words will be found anywhere within a clip, and you can search for phrases by putting them in quotes. You can also use boolean operators AND, OR, and NOT to search for exactly what you want. Searches are not case sensitive.

Here's some examples:

  1. alternative energy
    OR
    alternative + energy
    OR
    alternative AND energy

Results will include: Any clip that includes the words alternative and energy, not necessarily next to each other or in that order.
  2. alternative, energy
    OR
    alternative OR energy

Results will include: Any clip that includes the words alternative or energy, or both.
  3. "alternative energy"

Results will include: Any clip that includes the complete phrase "alternative energy".
  4. alternative NOT energy

Results will include: Any clip that includes the word alternative, but not containing the word energy.
  5. "alternative energy" NOT solar

Results will include: Any clip that includes the phrase "alternative energy", excluding clips that include the word solar.
