POPSGeorge Bush Doesn't Know Why People Don't Like Him George Bush has been asking around the white house about why people seem to dislike America, or is it just him they dislike. My guess is that the world will once again warm up to America and appreciate us for the great country we are, once the Bush boy is gonzo. I just wish he were heading to the Hague where he could be tired, along with Cheney and Rumsfeld for war crimes.

POPSA Texas Church Cancels a Funeral.....the deceased was GAY! Unbelievable! A nondenominational mega-church offers to plan and pay for the funeral of the brother of one of its members, reneges on the deal at the last minute when they discover the deceased was gay. The pastor said some of the photos that were to be displayed at the service showed hugging of two men. The mother wanted those pictures shown. The pastor felt that the mother of a murderer wouldn't expect to display photos of her son committing a murder, so why should this woman want to display a photo of her son indicating he is gay. This is enough to make me want to vomit. I am so sick of religious hypocrites causing pain for innocent and good people because of their own inborn sickness. Shame on this church and its so-called spiritual leader. My wish is for him to become a spirit as soon as possible.

I am no fan of this bastard, but when he makes threatening statements about Israel, his words make headlines. But when he starts to soften his stance, his words are ignored. He has been running all over the country claiming to be an "expert on terrorism," and Islamofascism. Some voters, outside the New York metropolitan area, are falling for his story hook, line and sinker. But now, his own words given during testimony he gave to the 9/11 commission are leaking into the media, and it tells a very different story. It presents a person who knows virtually nothing about terrorism, al Qaeda or bin Laden. He proves the falsity of his claims concerning the inadequate radios his fire fighters were forced to use that fateful day, along with other information that paints a very different picture from the one he has been unveiling for the public during the campaign.

We keep hearing about and seeing reports of Iraqis killing other Iraqis. Mostly this violence is between tribes. But now we have blatant murder of ordinary Iraqis simply based on sexual orientation. Is this the Democracy we are trying to fortify and protect?

POPSThe American Public is Sick of Bush's False Bravado The public wants Bush to be accountable and to hold the Iraqi government accountable. They are tired of having the president permit more of our brave service people killed or maimed, and our treasury being depleted indefinitely while the Iraqi government does nothing to reach any benchmarks, and actually plan to go on vacation for two months as our soldiers continue to bleed and die in the stinking heat of Baghdad and the rest of Iraq, I really hope the public stands firm and strong, and insists that the congress force a meaningful set of benchmarks with real consequences for the Iraqi government failing to meet them. They should also tell them that if the Iraqi government takes the summer off, so are our troops. They need the rest far more than the politicians do.

Once again the Bushies have decided to preemptively attack Michael Moore over his new documentary, SICKO. This is a film about the lack of adequate health care in the richest country in the world; the United States of America. Understand, that there are certain things Michael Moore does and says that do not meet with my applause, but when he is right he is right. The U.S. should be embarrassed by its lack of health care for every citizen of the country, no matter what their financial situation. Health care is not a privilege, it is a right. This is especially true in a country as vastly wealthy as the U.S. It is criminal for tens of millions of people to be out of the loop for proper medical care. The Bushies and the conservative Republicans will say or do anything to scare the citizenry away from national health care. But just ask the people of Canada what they think of their system, even with the problems it faces. It is not perfect. But no one is left uncared for.

Now we have Rush Limbaugh, Michellle Malkin, Mark Styne and Senator Mitch McConnell attacking a 12-year-old boy whose family made use of the schip program to help pay for the medical needs he and his sister incurred in a serious automobile accident. They accuse this child of lying for political reasons. This is the same kind of thing Limbaugh and his cronies did to Michael J. Fox when he campaigned for stem cell research, when Limbaugh claimed Mr. Fox was faking his symptoms in order to gain sympathy. Do these people have no feelings whatsoever? To smear a sick child for their own even sicker political purposes is beneath contempt.

Could this be the beginning of the end for this sick-o? This is the same thing that happened to "Dr." Laura. She went from being the be all and end all of conservative talk on hundreds of radio stations, and was given her own TV show. Then, because of her gay slander and hate-speech, her column was dropped from many papers, her TV show canceled, and her radio show is heard on only a fraction of the stations it used to be on in her hey day. As the old saying goes....every do has his/her day.

The only way to maintain the U.S. is to stand by its founding Christian principals and to ask for the grace of the Christian God. The Hindi and Muslim Gods are different and do not count in our political system. Are we still wondering why the rest of the world is laughing at us and why the Muslim world hates us?

POPSI Watch Al Jazeera English....Do You? It is virtually impossible to subscribe to the new Al Jazeera in the U.S or Canada. Many people in these countries, when they hear the words Al Jazeera, they immediately think of an Arab news channel that takes the side of terrorists in their reporting, and support Osama Bin Laden. They believe it spews anti-American and anti-Israel rhetoric 24/7. But I subscribe to it via Jump TV online, and it is absolutely nothing at all like that. Al Jazeera has some of the best electronic and newspaper journalists in the world working for them. Their production values are A+ and the news, although presented from a different perspective, is in no way anti-American or anti-Israel, and treats all reports in a reasonable even-handed manner. I urge people to go to www.jumptv.com and give Al Jazeera English a try. I think you will find your horizons expanding just a bit more.

POPSKids Conftont Bush on Torture, Which, Of Course, He Denies Leave it to the kids to have the guts to confront the torturer in chief and hold him to the fire. Of course, the president simply scanned the note with his eyes, smiled at the student and offered assurance that America does not engage in torture. My guess is the kid knew it was bullshit, or the letter would not have been written in the first place. Now, if only our professional media had the same chutzpah as this kid and could stand up to Bush and demand answers and accountability.

POPSOh John, What Have Ye Done? This article was very difficult to clip effectively. It truly spells out the tragedy of John McCain's fall from grace. A man who sold his integrity and core beliefs when he smelled, up close, the strong, aroma of power. He betrayed his own family after they were slandered by the vicious Bush team in 2000 and literally wound up kissing his enemies cheeks in order to fall into the good graces of the Evangelical base. He further ensured this by snuggling up to all the Evangelical leaders who smeared and libeled him during the campaign because the taste of power was so strong. POPSPetraeus/Betray Us Ad Results in A Deluge of Support for Moveon.org Moveon.org really started something with its Petraeus/Betray-Us ad. It actually was able to move the congress into introducing and voting on legislation condemning the organization for running the ad, which is the first bit of activity we have seen there in a while. While war rages and blood flows the most important thing on the minds of our legislators was to codify censorship. We must never speak poorly, especially of a military man in uniform. The Republicans were especially outraged. Yes, the same Republicans who swift-boated John Kerry and Max Cleland who were both Viet Nam vets and heroes. I guess it depends on who is wearing the uniform at the time when we condemn an attack. Anyway, Moveon.org has received a tremendous increase in donations since congress condemned them, so as far as they are concerned, keep the complaints coming Congresspersons.

POPSDid Someone Get to Mukasey? On Wednesday, during Michael Mukasey's first confirmation hearing, he stated that torture is always wrong and never excusable. Then, mysteriously, the very next day, during his second hearing he was asked if waterboarding is torture, he refused to respond coherently. I have suspicions that the white house was NOT happy with his comments on day one about torture, and gently explained the facts of life to him.

POPSThe Puritans Are Controlling the Main stream media It is hard to believe that in these so called "days of enlightenment," two of our major television and news networks refuse to air ads for condoms. The days of young men guiltily approaching the pharmacy counter and whispering to the pharmacist that they want a box of condoms has been over for at least three decades. Yet Fox and CBS still imply there is something dirty about purchasing and using a product that not only prevents unwanted pregnancies, but has been proven over and over again to protect couples from acquiring sexually transmitted diseases. I don't know if these two networks are just kissing the asses of the Bush administration who believes sex is a four letter word, or if they are just so behind the times that they do not see the ridiculousness of their position. But someone should really make it their business to drop by the home offices of these two public servants, and explain the facts of life to them.

POPSScores More Dead, Yet We Are Told The Surge is Working Whack a Mole! That is the game that the so-called surge is playing. We are constantly being set-up with a bunch of administration ass kissers who are trying to convince us that this "surge" is working. In September, it is almost certain that General Patreus will give his report and ask for another 6 months to continue the surge. How many more 6 month periods are we supposed to permit? They asked for an additional 6 months for the past 4 1/2 years. In the beginning Rumsfeld said the entire war AND occupation wouldn't last as long as 6 months in total. Now that the surge is on, the violence is just as bad only in different places. Areas which we never heard of before as being problems are suddenly being stricken with sectarian violence and bombings on a massive scale. And yet, we are told "things are getting better." "We are making progress." Chances are congress will give them another 6 months during which many more of our soldiers and hundreds or thousands of Iraqis will die

POPSThe Military is sending some amputees back into combat I do not doubt the courage of these heroic soldiers who are asking to be sent back into active duty, and sometimes combat after losing a limb(s) in the Iraq war. But isn't it kinda interesting how the military says ALL of our soldiers have talents and abilities that are needed and if an amputee wants to remain on active duty, or combat, and they are able to do so, they will be sent back, and yet at the same time, they see fit to discharge interpreters, translators, combat personnel etc, simply for being gay?

He chooses Tim Russert as his primary target in this piece, which is quite apt considering the way Russert handled the questioning during the Democratic debate October 30.
