Canada Hears What The U.S. Censored at Emmys
zasel

Only in the U.S. was Sally Field's comments about war censored as being inappropriate for audience ears on Fox. Here in Canada, where CTV ran the broadcast, her full comments were heard, and believe me, nothing at all of a sexual or inappropriate nature was said by Ms. Field. The word that Fox cut was goddamn. But, according to the FCC, goddamn is NOT a banned expression from broadcast TV. What the hell is going on in the states that free speech is so under attack?

The Puritans Are Controlling the Main stream media
zasel
by zasel  7-13-2007    18
It is hard to believe that in these so called "days of enlightenment," two of our major television and news networks refuse to air ads for condoms. The days of young men guiltily approaching the pharmacy counter and whispering to the pharmacist that they want a box of condoms has been over for at least three decades. Yet Fox and CBS still imply there is something dirty about purchasing and using a product that not only prevents unwanted pregnancies, but has been proven over and over again to protect couples from acquiring sexually transmitted diseases. I don't know if these two networks are just kissing the asses of the Bush administration who believes sex is a four letter word, or if they are just so behind the times that they do not see the ridiculousness of their position. But someone should really make it their business to drop by the home offices of these two public servants, and explain the facts of life to them.

Religious Group has Fit over Mitt
zasel
by zasel  7-7-2007
Mitt's getting his ears pinned back by Tony Perkin's of Family Research Council. They're blaming him for not ridding the Marriott Hotel chain from pay per view hardcore porn, when he sat on the board for about years. It's gonna be interesting to see if Mr. Romney can actually beat back these kinds of accusations. He says his beliefs are very conservative, and yet his political history is far from such. I am looking forward to following his campaign for as long as it lasts.
