Hindraf trio, 10 others freed from ISA

Damage control after the Ipoh affair? Regardless, this is indeed good news. FYI - the ISA (Internal Security Act) allows for detention without trial for up to 2 years, with renewable 2-year detention orders, indefinitely. It has been a continuing blot on Malaysia's human rights record.

    Court orders Raja Petra's release
    walski69
    by walski69  11-6-2008
Has Justice finally come (back) to Malaysia? This is definitely great news, regardless. Let's hope Raja Petra's defense lawyers also make sure that he's not re-arrested upon leaving the court, something which the Malaysian Police have done in the past, a blatantly contemptuous action.

Syed Hamid: Raja Petra’s articles ridiculed Islam
    walski69
    by walski69  9-24-2008    1
It's nice to be able to be a one-man judge, jury and executioner... But it's true: many of Raja Petra's articles would anger Muslims - against a corrupt and self-serving government that Syed Hamid represents.

It's funny how the media picks up on things... but I would have to agree that Dog Food is more sensational that "like" dog food. And "sensational" sells better than hard facts any 'ol time...

I've always held Zaid Ibrahim in high regard as a politician. He's in fact a total misfit in contrast to the rest of UMNO. He is definitely a person of high integrity. And he really should just quit if the Government refuses to release Teresa Kok and Raja Petra Kamaruddin.
