Teaching English in Ghana
volunteersghana
by volunteersghana  4-17-2008
Volunteers in this program teach English to local children in either private, government, or mission schools. Although English is the official language of Ghana, the children rarely get to learn from non-Ghanaian speakers of the language. Volunteers do NOT have to be native speakers of English.

Ghana Orphanages
volunteersghana
by volunteersghana  4-17-2008
It's hard to imagine a volunteer experience more fulfilling than working at an orphanage in Ghana. The basics are usually taken care of for the children, like their meals and a place to stay. But, with limited local staff available, there is only so much love and caring available for the children. That's why the children so eagerly await the arrival of volunteers, who can give the kids more attention and love.

Thank you so much Cosmic! I had the time of my life in Ghana, both fun and rewarding. All of the people there were wonderful, and my host parents became like a second family to me. It's always been my dream to travel and volunteer, and this program was a step above anything I had expected or hoped for. Thanks again for an amazing experience!
