Believers Invest in the Gospel of Getting Rich
    disenchantedcitizen
    by disenchantedcitizen  8-18-2009    8
When God said “Give and you shall receive”, I’m pretty sure He wasn’t referring to money. People like the Copeland’s, who take advantage of other people’s belief in God in order to make themselves rich, are disgustingly poor examples spiritual leadership. They make a money game out of religion in order to enrich themselves. Then they buy private airplanes and boats, vacation in Hawaii, take cruises in Alaska, wear designer clothes and jewelry made of emeralds and diamonds and tell their flock “Fear will make you stingy” so keep on giving and giving and giving. One member said “If God did it for them, he will do it for us”. Well here’s a news flash for you, if you could get thousands of people to give you their money then you too could live prosperously. ‘Spiritual pickpockets’ is a very apt name indeed.

Cruise Ship Fends Off Pirate Attack With Gunfire
    merrie
    by merrie  4-26-2009    1
Six men in a small, white Zodiac-type boat approached the Msc Melody at about 1730 GMT Saturday and opened fire with automatic weapons, Msc Cruises director Domenico Pellegrino said. They retreated after the security officers returned fire and sprayed them with water hoses. The ship continued its journey with its windows darkened. But Saturday's exchange of fire between the Melody and pirates was one of the first reported between pirates and a nonmilitary ship. Civilian shipping and passenger ships have generally avoided arming crewmen or hiring armed security for reasons of safety, liability and compliance with the rules of the different countries where they dock. Pellegrino said the pistols on board the Melody were available to the commander and security agents. He said they were used as a deterrent, "in an emergency operation."

US Government Spying: You getting that creepy feeling?
    BobbyRutan
    by BobbyRutan  9-23-2007
Records the Identity Project obtained confirmed the government is receiving data from reservation systems, such as Galileo and Sabre. The data, in some cases, are more detailed than the information to which the airlines have access. The DHS created a program called DHS Trip to provide redress for travelers facing screening problems at ports of entry. DHS Trip does not allow a traveler to challenge an agency decision in court. The system is exempt from certain Privacy Act requirements, including the right to contest the content of the record. A traveler has no ability to correct erroneous information Zakariya Reed, an Ohio firefighter, said in an interview he has been detained seven times at the Michigan border since 2006. Twice he was questioned by officials about politically charged opinion pieces he had published in his local newspaper. The essays were critical of US MidEast policy. During a secondary interview, he said, "they had them printed out on the table in front of

"U.S. Shoots Down Iranian Drone"--Truth or Propaganda?
    blueridge
    by blueridge  3-14-2009    1
Let's debunk this "news" piece before it is swallowed whole: 1. This spurious article merely states something from "u.s. military sources in Baghdad", yet it was "previously unreported", until now. 2. The article has no weight but allegation, it merely launches into quotes from Globalsecurity.org, a neoconservative propaganda front, with "facts" about Iran's UAVs from way back--i.e. fanning the flames with old data. 3. Globalsecurity.org is not reporting this! 4. The only MSM news reporting this is guess who? Yep, FOX. The rest of the MSM is not biting, yet 5. The article on Danger Room is written by Noah Shachtman, whose name suggests he might be a bit jaded 6. In apparent reaction to skepticism, his "update" says that "no one can confirm" this, so "or deny" means little 7. This likely could not have been kept secret for a whole month if true, due to its nature

This vacations information is great if your taking your family on a cruise

From past experience I have to agree. A couple of years ago I went on a cruise with my wife and kids but the facilites on board for children were rather poor. Unfortunately I didnt do my research before booking and ended up having a lets say non peaceful time :-) I spent most of it trying to keep my kids entertained which ment me and my wife never really had any time to sit back and relax. If your going on a cruise with your children then you make sure you check out the facilites offered. Im trying the whole cruise vacation again except this time im doing my research :-)

The Seven Sweetest Fictional Theme Parks Pt 1 (#7 - #5)
    revenantdm
    by revenantdm  7-22-2008
Cartmanland, Horrorland from Goosebumps, and the Granddaddy of all fictional theme parks: Westworld! Part 2 gets better with Wally World, Thrill World, Itchy and Scratchy Land, and I am not going to tell you what Number One is.... Not even a hint.... I personally love theme parks and have been to some of the best: Disneyland, Six Flags, Magic Mountain, Knott's Berry Farm, Raging Waters, California Adventure, Busch Gardens, Universal Studios California, Palisades Park, and Astroworld... and the biggest of them all - Las Vegas! But if you like sci-fi or adventure thrillers pick up Dream Park by Larry Niven and Steven Barnes (or the 4 or so sequels), Utopia by Lincoln Childs, or Futureworld by Phillip J. Farmer. You will love them!
