POPSUse of WP by Taliban on Western Forces reprehensible After using WP themselves, and supplying it to Israel to drop on Palestinians, now the US military are complaining about it being used against them. Right-wing news sources usually say stuff like: “White phosphorus is not banned by any treaty that the United States has signed.” That’s because the US doesn’t like to sign any international treaties that might get them in trouble. Like the International Criminal Court.

POPSChinese sailors drop their pants and moon US Navy Is their some Chinese symbolism in dropping your pants? And is it reasonable for the Chinese to tell a US spy boat to take a hike in the South China Sea? Would the US tell a Chinese spy boat to leave if it were in the Gulf of Mexico?

POPSPicture comparison between Nazi treatment of Jews, and Israeli treatment of Palestinians. Thought provoking, but not sure I agree with all the comparisons. What do you think? I saw the link in a comment on Digg: "Palestinian children shot directly in the head by IDF" - http://bit.ly/14wxh which is in regards to this article in The Telegraph: "Bullets in the brain, shrapnel in the spine: the terrible injuries suffered by children of Gaza" Doctors at a hospital near Gaza are almost overwhelmed by the number of Palestinian children needing treatment for bullet wounds to their heads. - http://bit.ly/oSJ5

POPSIsrael wishes you a White Phosphorus New Year Gaza dogs! Israel have been using White Phosphorus incendiary bombs on the civilians of Gaza. It is illegal to do so. However, the US can't point the finger because it used the so-called "Shake and Bake" attack on the civilians of Fallujah in Iraq. White phosphorus is the constituent of napalm that makes it keep burning under water. Whie phosphorus is so reactive that it splits water molecules creating hydrogen and oxygen, which is why it can keep burning.

POPSRobert Fisk: Why do they hate the West so much, we will ask Another excellent article by Mr Fisk. Had to share. He is one of the worlds top commentators. I've been reading his book The Great War for Civilisation: The Conquest of the Middle East ( Shortened URL to Amazon US: http://bit.ly/4dwSnf ). Highly recommended reading!

POPSRobert Fisk on the Israeli attacks on gaza Excellent article, of which the following snip is just one part of his commentary. Robert Fisk is one of my favourite commentator son the Middle East. Well worth reading if you are following this news topic. Another bit I liked: Is Hamas going to say: "Wow, this blitz is awesome – we'd better recognise the state of Israel, fall in line with the Palestinian Authority, lay down our weapons and pray we are taken prisoner and locked up indefinitely and support a new American 'peace process' in the Middle East!" ...

POPSThe Guardian on the Palestinian Massacres According to an interview in The Nation with Lakhdar Brahimi, a UN troubleshooter in the Middle East: http://www.thenation.com/doc/20090112/crossette The elections are soon and Ehud wants to pump up his public support. Especially since the Lebanon assaulty was a failure. What a prick.

POPSPhone and drive = bloody idiot Couldn't agree more. Whenever I see someone weaving around, speeding up and slowing down in an unpredictable manner, I initially think they are drunk. Usually though it is someone on a mobile.

POPSVirginia Tech: just get over it. I can't stand hearing more about the Virginia Tech. Not because it upsets me, but because it seems so two-faced. People are asking "how could this happen?" Easy: allow nutters easy access to weapons as is currently the case. If the bloke had has to make do with a knife or an axe, then we on the other side of the world would not be hearing about it. Of course, if this massacre had taken place in Iraq at the hands of a USMC squad, it would have made the news because non-American lives don't matter. More than 30 americans are killed every day either by guns or cars. No one is upset if 30 people die in clumps of 1-3. So, stop asking "why" and "how" - it is easy - psychos kill, and when they get their hands on weapons that can kill large clumps of people, they do. Perhaps the deaths are just collateral damage for a ridiculous policy of allowing the public to arm themselves with weapons that should only be held by those in the armed forces?

POPSWi-Fi: Children at risk from 'electronic smog' I has this debate with the rest of the IT team at my company last year (I am an IT consultant). Companies see the cost savings of not using physical wired network - no wire cost, and no eletrician cost to put in the cabling - and really don't want to know anything about the health effects of RF radiation. Humans are electrical beings because cells are electrical, and the nervous system is too. It seems obvious that EMR would have potentially negative effects on humans, and jumping on to Wi-Fi without examining any ill-effects is stupid IMO. There is massive money backing the Mobile and Wi-Fi industry, because it is a huge money earner, so I wouldn't expect anything to be done any time soon.

POPSIs the Wi-Fi revolution a health time bomb? The answer to the title appears to be yes. A very interesting article of which I have only clipped a little. Another article from the independent focuses more on wi-fi, where as this one looks at EMR generally.

POPSOmega-3 in fish oils might ease depression Only just found this. Reported 2 weeks a go in USA Today. Links now with Omega-3 helping with depression and Alzheimer's. Seems to be a lot of evidence mounting now suggesting EPA and DHA - fish oil - one of the best things you can take for your mental health.

POPSMMR Vaccine I thought the medical establishment and the vaccine manufacturers had silenced the media on this subject. Seems that some people just can't be bought. What I would like to know is why the triple vaccine has to be a triple. The suggestion is that having the 3 seperately over time doesn't cause health problems, but the MMR triple causes Autism.

POPSAussie PM at the Commonwealth Games Australian Prime Minister John Howard at the Commonwealth Games. There are so many captions that could be put here. Is he happy-clapping, is he afraid of being touched, is he dancing a jig, is he retarded?
