POPSWhen you get around to it, check this out Structured procrastination requires a certain amount of self-deception, since one is in effect constantly perpetrating a pyramid scheme on oneself. One needs to be able to recognize and commit oneself to tasks with inflated importance and unreal deadlines, while making oneself feel that they are important and urgent. This is not a problem, because virtually all procrastinators have excellent self-deceptive skills also. And what could be more noble than using one character flaw to offset the bad effects of another?

POPSThe Last of the Polls Show Obama Way Ahead. A major LANDSLIDE VICTORY now looks certain. 270 electoral votes needed to win. Many now predict he will get at least 280 or more. Over 300 would be extra good. Over 340 would be a LANDSLIDE VICTORY. Things also looking better for Democrats in both the House and Senate, much better than expected and the non-stoppable ruling total of 60 Senators even appears possible. Folks had been saying McCain's chances were like hoping to draw into an inside straight. Now, though, it looks like he needs a miracle. Obama continues to campaign on this Election Day, in a firmly held Republican state. He appears determined not just to win but to make gains in many traditional Republican states, "redrawing the electoral map." -- changes that might last for decades.

POPSIndian extremist group swamped by pink panty protest I think we saw physical assault and criminal conspiracy as a step too far," said Mihira Sood, a 25-year-old lawyer who was part of the "core group" of the consortium. She said the reason that the pink chaddi – Hindi slang for knickers – was chosen was that it was an "irreverent" riposte to rightwingers who claimed they were saving "women from shame and dishonour". "We wanted something irreverent and the chaddi is something we all wear but no one is supposed to talk about in Indian culture. It symbolised the hypocrisy of arguments," she said.

POPSFirm pays cash for fake positive reviews Yep, that’s right, according to his LinkedIn profile, Bayard is the Business Development Representative at Belkin International in charge of “Sales of Belkin products to major .com accounts such as Amazon.com.” In other words, this guy is paying people to post fake good reviews of his own products which, according to most people who actually use them, suck (and ironically, he’s using Amazon’s own service to screw up their own review system).

POPSFirst Khmer Rouge trial begins in Cambodia A born-again Christian, is said to have co-operated with investigating judges - and is expected to reveal important information about the decisions made by the organisation's leadership. His information could help in the trials set for later this year of four other defendants, analysts say. They include the surviving top leaders Nuon Chea, Ieng Sary and Khieu Samphan, who are all elderly and in poor health. All four have denied any knowledge of the atrocities that took place under their rule. If preparations for their trials get bogged down, as seems likely, Duch may be the only man ever held to account for the Khmer Rouge atrocities, our correspondent adds.

POPSIraq disintegrating from ethnic cleansing The flight of the middle class started about six months after the invasion in 2003 as it became clear Iraq was becoming more, not less, violent. They moved to Jordan, Syria and Egypt. The suicide bombing campaign was largely directed against Shias who only began to retaliate after they had taken over the government in May last year. Interior Ministry forces arrested, tortured and killed Sunnis. But a decisive step towards sectarian civil war took place when the Shia Al-Askari shrine in Samarra was blown up on 22 February this year. Some 1,300 Sunni were killed in retaliation. Kadm Darwish Ali, a policeman from Baquba and now also a refugee, said: "Everything got worse after Samarra. I had been threatened with death before but now I felt every time I appeared in the street I was likely to die."
