Did 9/11 Alter the Content of Our Dreams?
    thisnamecantbetaken
    by thisnamecantbetaken  2-15-2008    1
Did 9/11 alter our dreams? IMO yes. The U.S government milked the event for all it was worth and used it to turn our dreams into nightmares. ...Except for the military industrial complex. For them, it was a dream come true. Their bottom lines have never been better. How about yours? The Iraq war alone, costs the average American family appr. $275 a month. What exactly are you getting for that money? Hello homeland security. Goodbye liberty Hello preemptive lie-based occupations. Goodbye morality and decency. Hello surveillance. Goodbye privacy. Hello Gitmo Goodbye justice Hello torture Goodbye human rights Hello rendition Goodbye habeus corpus... Hello??

U.S. Iraq Vet Speaks Against Iraq Occupation
    thisnamecantbetaken
    by thisnamecantbetaken  2-15-2008
"Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country." So, I'm asking... What can we do to end the wars? It's not just Iraq and Afghanistan who are paying the price for the arrogance of an Empire. We also, are the ones who pay, the ones who die, the ones who suffer. We are the ones losing liberty and money. Our children grow poorer, while the Halliburtons of the world, grow richer and fatter. Is this your idea of freedom? Of security? Of justice and honour and liberty? I know for sure, it's not mine. They can't wage their wars without us. A trickle can become a river. A few lone voices can become a roar. If the whole world stands together, we CAN end these senseless wars. Yes, we can. Dissent, desert, protest, sanction, refuse, resist, rebel, object, rally, petition, boycott, impeach.

I am under no illusions about the nature of the people who think they own our government. They have declared unto themselves the new power of Extraordinary Rendition which means they believe they have the right to kidnap, imprison, torture, and even kill any person anywhere in the world. I want to leave this country not because I am foolish enough to think it will make me safe but because I can no longer justify being part of the Greatest Force for Evil in the twenty-first century. Wow. Americans fleeing America. Surreal. Who would ever have thought it, huh?

The elections don't just concern Americans. The whole world is in the murderous grasp of the evil American BushCo regime and their bogus "War on Terror". They have deceived their allies and they have murdered millions of innocent people around the world. They sure didn't deserve it! Everyone around the world is watching what you do now. Twice, you put Bush in office and twice, you let him stay there. Patriot Acts, MCA 2006, renditions, torture, secret prisons, lies, wars, surveillance, Gitmo... It has to change. The faces and names in office may change, but make sure the dictatorial laws change too. These elections, DEMAND change! If not, then the US really will get the government they deserve...

A reward has been offered if anyone knows anything about Tyson's whereabouts. As for the laws, the defense and the cruelty itself? Where to begin? Zoos in Canada only have regulations for native animals such as bears or coyotes. Keepers have no rules for exotic animals, including lions, tigers or kangaroos. "McElroy was brought to court for her manner with native animals and unfortunately it has nothing to do with Tyson's well-being," she said.

The Pleasure of Finding Things Out
    thisnamecantbetaken
    by thisnamecantbetaken  11-24-2007    2
I would see people building a bridge and I would say ‘they don’t understand’. I really believed that it was senseless to make anything because it would be destroyed very soon anyway, but they didn’t understand that and I had this very strange view of any construction that I would see, I would always think how foolish they are trying to make something. So I was really in a kind of depressive condition. I think a lot of troops coming back from Iraq and Afghanistan will have PTSD or depression, not just because of the dangers of combat, but perhaps also because of terrible things they have done, or witnessed others do. (Torture, abuse, rape etc) It's imperative we fight wars with as high a degree of dignity and respect for human life as possible, not just for the sake of our enemies and civilians caught up in the crossfire, but also for the long term sake and health of our own too. Guilt is a terrible thing to live with. Speak out against torture.

The aim was to spread the word that the device, nicknamed the Silent Guardian, is neither sinister nor dangerous. In an age when the US military has been dogged by allegations of torture at secret bases, such perceptions are crucial. I would think they are... though the thought of people being frazzled to ashes never even crossed my mind! The development of the weapon only became public after the Sunshine Project - a Texas-based group that campaigns against biological and chemical weapons - pushed for disclosure under the Freedom of Information Act.

    Bush On Torture
    thisnamecantbetaken
    by thisnamecantbetaken  11-3-2007
Bush said he wouldn't discuss the techniques of torture because he doesn't want the enemy to adjust... Adjust?? How exactly do you adjust to waterboarding? To being hung in chains from the ceiling for hours and days on end? How do you adjust to sleep deprivation? Or sensory deprivation? Or being beaten with cables? Or hypothermia? Or murder? How exactly do you adjust Mr Bush? You are so FULL OF IT. As for the use of secret prisons, (which are against ALL common decency, not to mention International Law) Bush replies: "Yeah, so what?" Yeah, perhaps you're right Bush. By accepting torture and secret prisons, USA has sunken to such depths of moral depravity and stench, that the only way is up anyway... so who cares? Can't you come up with some other horrors and atrocities? Waterboarding is getting a little old, don't you think? How about some pulling of fingernails or hot irons? Or being eaten alive by ants! Be creative, Sir! Hmm... do they have ants in Afghanistan?

The U.S Administration and the U.S Military are engaged in widespread, worldwide, systematic torture, abuse, imprisonment and murder!. This is the new USA and what is stands for. I am so sickened, disgusted, angry and I can't even begin to express the outrage I feel. It's sick!! Are you proud of yourself Mr Bush? How do you friggin' sleep at night?!? Geeez...
