POPSLiveleak Threatened And "Fitna" Pulled A blow against free speech. Anyway, I don't see what all the fuss is about this short film. I've seen it and it was too dumb to take seriously and esp the thunder sound effects made me laugh. Too stupid. All it's trying to do, is incite fear and hatred of Islam, but it's so obvious that it's pathetic. A similar movie could no doubt be made about Christianity too.

POPSLogo Can Make You 'Think Different' >> “These experiments demonstrate that most any brand that has strong associations with particular traits could have the capacity to influence how we act,” Chartrand said. Consumers should be aware that they are susceptible to influences they may not detect and use this knowledge to their advantage. “If you know you need to perform well on some task, say something athletic, you may want to surround yourself with images and brand logos that represent success in athletics.” <<

POPSOld Solar Cycle Returns >> "Solar Cycle 24 has begun, but we won't be through solar minimum until the number of Cycle 24 spots rises above the declining number of Cycle 23 spots." Based on this latest spate of "old" activity, he thinks the next Solar Max probably won't arrive until 2012. <<

POPSHow Can We Turn From War As A Solution? I'm not sure how I feel about the draft. On one hand, the thought of antiwar and non-violent people being forced to join the abhorrent killing machine, is horrifying to me. On the other hand, if a nation chooses to start a war, should it only be the civilians of the victim nation, who have to pay the price? Would the apathy and nonchalance towards war fade, if everyone (able) was at risk for being drafted? If the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan continue to drag on, (for a hundred years?) will America have any choice, but to bring back the draft? What say you?

POPSFive More Minutes ! Cont: The man smiled and then said, "My older son Tommy was killed by a drunk driver last year while he was riding his bike near here. I never spent much time with Tommy and now I'd give anything for just five more minutes with him. I've vowed not to make the same mistake with Todd. He thinks he has five more minutes to swing. The truth is, I get five more minutes to watch him play." Life is all about making priorities, what are your priorities? Give someone you love 5 more minutes of your time today. Author unknown

POPSIt's Okay To Be Afraid Don't let such fear rule your life. If I did, I would never ever be able to get on an aeroplane. To say I feel fear every single time I travel by air, would an understatement. I hope the desensitizing bit kicks in soon, because it never seems to be get any easier, "flooding" or not. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4mX9-2xuyP8

POPSThe Ten Legal Commandments of Photography*
*Charlton Heston not included. :) I. Anyone in a public place can take pictures of anything they want. Public places include parks, sidewalks, malls, etc. Malls? Yeah. Even though it’s technically private property, being open to the public makes it public space. II. If you are on public property, you can take pictures of private property. If a building, for example, is visible from the sidewalk, it’s fair game. III. If you are on private property and are asked not to take pictures, you are obligated to honour that request. This includes posted signs. IV. Sensitive government buildings (military bases, nuclear facilities) can prohibit photography if it is deemed a threat to national security. V. People can be photographed if they are in public (without their consent) unless they have secluded themselves and can expect a reasonable degree of privacy. Kids swimming in a fountain? Okay. Somebody entering their PIN at the ATM? Not okay. There's a bit more at the source.

POPSWhat Would It Take To Prove You Wrong? This is a powerful question to ask yourself when examining your beliefs. Doing so honestly, will make you a clearer and deeper thinker. It can be the difference between a person who simply revels in wishful thinking, and a heroic seeker of truth. Take a deep look into your own belief systems, and ask yourself what evidence it would take to convince you they were wrong. It's an uncomfortable exercise, but an important one.

POPSHow Creepy Do You Want It? I love stories like this. :) ...because, well, that's where the action is. That's where we get to touch the void, dance on the edge of perception, realize how little we truly know of anything.

POPSThe "Devoted Husband" Organisation Be nice to your wife and save the world. It still doesn't sound like the height of romance to us, but Yamana's doing his best to make sure all Japanese men find the time to give their wives a little extra TLC. And if his ideas spread far enough, he's got a feeling that they might just save the world.

POPSBody of Australian Outlaw Ned Kelly Found? "The social bandit." An outlaw, but nevertheless a hero. :) In the time since his execution, Ned Kelly has been mythologized among some into a Robin Hood, a political revolutionary and a figure of Irish Catholic and working-class resistance to the establishment and British colonial ties. Mrs Ellen Hollow, Kelly's 62 year old great-niece, has offered to supply her own DNA to help identify Kelly's bones. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ned_Kelly

POPSBush Family Private Equity Fund In Deep Trouble >> Higher interest rate costs for states and local governments will aggravate local US fiscal crises as the depression spreads, creating a self-reinforcing downward spiral. The process is in its early stages yet. <<

POPSThe Israel Lobby (AIPAC) - A Danger To The World Americans probably shouldn't watch this. It's a BANNED video. :p righthand said: I hadn't know it was this bad! This clip is connected to this clip: http://clipmarks.com/clipmark/A0E34BC6-B79F-4DD4-828C-BD1930802E80/

POPSThe Fake Allies Russia cannot give Israel much aid, but can supply advanced weapons much cheaper than America, and provide excellent support in the UN. Russia’s military credibility among Arabs is much higher than America’s; Arabs don’t hesitate terrorizing the American pawn, but would shrink from attacking Russia’s client state. There is also France, boiling with imperial ambitions but unable to vie the Arab states away from America. Through an alliance with France, Israel can extract diplomatic support and considerable aid from the EU. And there are China and India. America "loves" Israel, but is the feeling mutual, I wonder?

POPSStand Against Puppy-Killing Soldiers There's a video at the source, but I can't watch it myself. Animals have even fewer hopes and rights than the rest of us and often bear the brunt of people's aggression and frustration and plain old cruel malevolence. Please sign. :( The true measure of a man, is how he treats someone, who he has absolutely no use for.
