About me
I'm half Aussie, half Danish and I live in either Denmark or Sweden, depending on the weather.

I LOVE cats and beer and sunshine and flowers and hammocks and travelling and the beach and being lazy and partying and friends and good food and... did I remember to mention beer? Anyway, all the fun stuff in life! Life's way too short to not enjoy it while you can. Eat, drink and be merry. Cheers!

Laugh!
thisnamecantbetaken
by thisnamecantbetaken  Yesterday 7:50 PM    11
No man who has once heartily and wholly laughed can be altogether irreclaimably bad. You can't deny laughter; when it comes, it plops down in your favorite chair and stays as long as it wants. With the fearful strain that is on me night and day, if I did not laugh I should die. Laughter on one's lips is a sign that the person down deep has a pretty good grasp of life. Laughter is the sensation of feeling good all over and showing it principally in one place. Laughing is one of my MOST favourite things to do, no doubt about it. :D

The Scandal of Hunger in America
thisnamecantbetaken
by thisnamecantbetaken  Yesterday 3:04 PM    3
Tax dollars are wrongly spent on all level of government. For example, in Los Angeles, the lion share of the city budget is spent on the police department. State wide the amount of money spent on the prison system is astronomical. Instead of hiring more cops and incarcerating more people, it would be a wise and durable investment to invest in good and free public education. Federally, the waste of our tax dollars and resources is just as absurd. President Obama will try to justify his escalation of the war in Afghanistan. By sending more troops to Afghanistan, the astronomical defense budget will keep going up and is likely to reach 700 billion in 2010. 1 billion people suffer from chronic hunger. It is Thanksgiving, and while the executives of Goldman Sachs, which are getting ready to pay themselves 21 billion in bonuses, have too much to be thankful for, the 49 million Americans going hungry every day should be resentful of a system that has let them down.

The Value of Nothing

The Value of Nothing offers a fresh and accessible way to think about economics and the choices we will all need to make in order to create a sustainable economy and society.

Unconfirmed: Thousands Under Quarantine in Ukraine Have Been Killed by Vaccines

Reports have come in of pneunomic plague following unusual aircraft activity. Doctors are reported to have been told that they cannot write down pneumonic plague as a cause of death and must write down swine flu. Nevertheless, there is complete media blackout about it except some comments I tried to verify this info, my cousin called friends in Drohobycz (also Western Ukraine) - there is nothing abnormal there. So it could be a provocation or to run false stories. Of course there is a chance that only small part of the region is affected, maybe they tried there untested vaccine and these are the results. Nevertheless, there is complete media blackout about it except some comments in my blog which for already 2 weeks confirm the fact of "thousands of victims". http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LtMznUZIt00

To help sort through the mass of information, Wikileaks is encouraging readers to post any interesting discoveries on a specially-created page on the social news website Reddit. A preview of some of the most revealing messages trailed online included several moving eyewitness testimonies. Others messages reflect the panic and misinformation that swirled on the day of the attacks.   is great news if you are one of the Protestants who do hold these beliefs. But if you are not, then you should be alarmed. I admit that I think Evangelicals get a bad rap from liberal Jews, many of whom are so repulsed by the Evangelicals' political and social conservatism that they unfairly and unwisely devalue the value of their Zionism. But supporting the settlements policy because there has to be room for all the Jews in the world to come home to Israel in advance of Armageddon? Astonishing. iven the tendency of U.S. politicians to avowedly claim religious grounding for their political beliefs I do think somewhat more scrutiny needs to be given to the issue of the extent to which evangelical figures are letting their policy views be driven by apocalyptic scenarios. Watch out, Evangelicals! Your unconditional support of Israel may just end up with Israelis seeing YOU, as the enemy. Oh, the irony... Palin for 2012, anyone? .:p

The Invention of the Jewish People

The book has been extravagantly denounced and praised, often on the basis of whether or not the reader agrees with his politics. “Every generation of Jewish historians has faced the same task: to retell and adapt the story to meet the needs of its own situation.” The same could be said of all nations and religions. Perhaps that is why — on both sides of the argument — some myths stubbornly persist no matter how often they are debunked while other indubitable facts continually fail to gain traction. Shlomo Sand’s latest work has spent 19 weeks on Israel’s bestseller list. Reviews

Drug Makers Raise Prices in Face of Health Care Reform

The drug companies “can charge what they want — it’s not fair,” Eric White, the 42-year-old owner of a small jewelry store in Queens, said as he left a pharmacy recently. He shook his head. “What can I do?” he said. “I need my medicines.” Catherine J. Arnold, a drug industry analyst at Credit Suisse, said her latest study of the nation’s eight biggest pharmaceutical companies showed markedly similar results: list prices rising an average of 8.7 percent in the 12 months ending Sept. 30 — the highest rate of growth since at least 2004.   " I’m convinced that culture and art, with its integrity preserved, can create important added value in conjunction with other areas of society.” The programme works from a broader definition of culture which, along with theatre visits, also includes activities such as visits to public gardens and enrolling in handicrafts courses. “The sort of cultural activities to be arranged would be experiences which strengthen self-confidence and provide continuity; culture should be a complement to regular care." The philosophy and idea behind this is clear. The healthier and happier a population is, the more productive they become. Taking care of people is the top priority. It pays off in the end, economically and socially, by keeping everyone in the loop of society. That's the Scandinavian way.. :)

Well, despite this, a huge number of Danes are now calling for the government to please let us pay more taxes! "Please raise taxes, so we can afford more!". :p .Now... I know this might seem odd and counter-intuitive to some, but please lend me your ear and I'll try to explain.... :) In a society like for example the US, where Wall Street reigns supreme and the gap between rich and poor just grows every day, how can it be expected that there is anything in it all, for the little guy? Capitalism is all good and fine, but money shouldn't be the goal, but merely the means. It's not about how much you have, but how much you give.
