Fox Nation's Big, Big, BIG, Bigoted Article
    thinkingblue
    by thinkingblue  8-15-2009    2
DIGG COMMENTS: "wow they'll say anything" "Every time I read crazy bullshit like this, the phrase "grasping at straws" comes to mind." "It's downright scary how dumb these people are." --- I live in my own little sphere where such stupidity does not reign supreme. I stay away from Fox news, (if my remote button lands on it even for a second, I quickly push next to get the hell out of there, FAST). I don't view the backwardness of Fox viewers as scary (unless, they start donning white sheets and pointed hoods). But I do get angry that there is a media outlet that fuels ignorance and makes money doing so, to boot. The FoxTV/Right-wing talk charlatans use their follower’s shallowness to control this audience and what a sad lot they are. Always in a state of anger, believing some group is to blame for their hardships; when in reality it's the very right-wing political and religious belief system they’ve bought into that keeps them bound by their own ignorance. It's sad. thinkingblue

My mother's other sin, (besides financial irresponsibility) was processing a false pride. She went to a government food distribution facility to collect such bulk staples as cheese, peanut butter and powdered milk, once or twice but found the experience quite humiliating and never went back... So hunger rejoined our family. You don't ask to be born nor to you have a choice as to what type of guardian/parent you will receive. Little children who have to live in abject poverty because they were conceived by unenlightened, uninformed and yes, ignorant parents (who were raised possibly by the same) are one of the main reasons for Liberalism. The very old and the very young are the vulnerable ones in any society. They have little or no tools for survival. And if government can't help them, most will fall prey to the very dark side of life. Pain and despair for these unfortunates are a way of life.      Ed Schultz said "I think that Dick Cheney wants this country to get hit again for political gain,” I felt he had something there and made this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h0FgOcXhab4 John McCain, on FACE THE NATION, http://www.cbsnews.com/video/watch/?id=4969629n stated this about Ed Schultz "And when extreme talk show hosts say that he (Cheney) wants another attack on the United States, I think that's shameful." SHAMEFUL, what does he think about what Cheney is doing...? Oh don't tell me, I know, McCain thinks Cheney is PATRIOTIC, what else. Ed Schultz believes Cheney is MEAN and that is why he is acting the way he is "acting" ... After reading the Delancey Place blog about Psychopaths, I thought.... Hmmmm, maybe it's not meanness that motivates Cheney, maybe he is just the run of the mill Psychopath... Waddauthink, does the shoe fit? Is There A Skeleton In John McCain's POW closet?
    thinkingblue
    by thinkingblue  10-11-2008
Excerpted From The Rolling Stone Magazine: In its broad strokes, McCain's life story is oddly similar to that of the current occupant of the White House. John Sidney McCain III and George Walker Bush both represent the third generation of American dynasties. Both were born into positions of privilege against which they rebelled into mediocrity. Both developed an uncanny social intelligence that allowed them to skate by with a minimum of mental exertion. Both struggled with booze and loutish behavior. At each step, with the aid of their fathers' powerful friends, both failed upward. And both shed their skins as Episcopalian members of the Washington elite to build political careers as self-styled, ranch-inhabiting Westerners who pray to Jesus in their wives' evangelical churches.      All the myths that are floated as truth, is nauseating beyond the puke bucket. The right-winged, learned ones who perhaps didn't sleep through all of their college courses, whip out the dialogue of mendacity every time they are threatened to be overthrown by THE OTHER PARTY. Oh they keep their fairytale myths alive all through their years of control but election time is when they really roll up their sleeves and get the SHIT shovels lined up to cover us all in blankets of Repulsive Untruths against our common senses and THE OTHER PARTY.      After 8 long years of the Bush Twilight Zone. Here we are again being sucked into the McCain's version of this same Zone. Where the HELL is reality? McCain's pick of Sarah Palin is almost as troubling as a W. Bush second win. After proving himself totally incompetent with his first 4 years, the US people gave him the majority vote to rule for another 4 years. I know the rest of the world must think of us as Nut Cases. And we deserved the title! Sarah Palin is as nutty as a Jerry Falwell, the "man" who had babbled "AIDS is not just God's punishment for homosexuals; it's God's punishment for the society that tolerates homosexuals."      From: http://betterbadnews.com/ Online policing of politically unreliable web sites (Senate Bill S-1959) will bring to the US internet what Yahoo has already brought to China: Internet related censorship services and jailed dissidents. Why is the internet tech community so quiet about this issue? The bill, (S-1959) misleadingly called the Homegrown Terrorism and Violent Radicalization act of 2007 is a thought crime bill. The bill was passed in the house under a curious suspension of the rules usually reserved for non controversial issues like the naming of a post office. ------ This doesn't sound good to me... Fun Media Source to Watch Iowa Caucus

    by thinkingblue  1-3-2008
Join The Party. You Don't Have To Be Young... The Iowa caucus is an electoral event in which Iowa residents elect delegates to the county convention to which their precinct belongs. There are 99 counties in Iowa and thus 99 conventions. These county conventions then select delegates for both Iowa's Congressional District Convention and the State Convention, which eventually choose the delegates for the National Convention. The Iowa caucus is noteworthy for the amount of media attention it receives during U.S. presidential election years: Since 1972, the Iowa caucus has been the first major electoral event of the nominating process for President of the United States. It has served as an early indication of which candidates for President might win the nomination of their political party at that party's national convention. The 2008 Iowa caucus takes place January 3. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iowa_caucus

Jason Leopold Reviews "Pete Seeger: The Power of Song" By Jason Leopold One of the sad truths about the Bush administration's historic foreign policy failure, resulting in the occupation of Iraq and the numerous constitutional abuses that followed, is that it has not led to the type of artistry reminiscent of the Vietnam War era. That's the feeling you're left with after watching "Pete Seeger: The Power of Song," an inspirational new documentary that pays tribute to the legendary folk singer and activist. With all due respect to Neil Young and The Dixie Chicks, there hasn't been a single musical artist to emerge over the past five years who has displayed a passion and an urgency in using the power of song to rail against the social and political injustices and inspire a generation to rise up the way Seeger has done for more than half a century. LIMBAUGH'S NEWSPEAK!
    thinkingblue
    by thinkingblue  11-26-2007
Understanding Fascism Fascism has come to be a useless term in the past 30 years or so. In many respects, leftists are most responsible for this degradation; it became so common to lob the word at just about anyone conservative or corporatist in the '60s and '70s that its original meaning -- describing a very distinct political style-- became utterly muddled, at least in the public lexicon. A recent example of this was the report at Take Back the Media that Limbaugh had characterized antiwar protesters as "fascists and anti-American." It's clear that liberals are every bit as prone to confusing fascism with totalitarianism as are conservatives. The difference, is that the latter often do so deliberately, as a way of obscuring the fascism that sits at their elbows. It’s important that Americans of all stripes LEFT or RIGHT have a clear view of what fascism is- it is not an extinct political force. by thinkingblue  10-1-2007    1
This is a powerful film enlisting a "REAL" Soldier's plight to live a normal life after being injured in Iraq. His injuries, that left him paralyzed from the waist down, occurred after only 5 days of arrival in the land the Bush Cabal decided to invade. It's heart wrenching and inspiring. With songs written just for "Body Of War" by Eddie Vedder (of Pearl Jam fame). Tomas Young, the young man, the film focuses on (Rush Limbaugh's idea of a FAKE SOLDIER) is so courageous in his battle to maintain his sanity within a broken body. He represents all those who have sacrificed so much for the Neocon's idea of reality, while they (THE PNAC) themselves, forfeited nothing except for power. (which they still do not recognize as lost.) A must see movie for those of us who can see beyond the machismo delusions of war! Please watch the youtube presentation, showing a few scenes leading up to the birth of a magnificent body of work.

Ted Rall (born 1963 in Cambridge, Massachusetts) is a liberal columnist and syndicated editorial cartoonist whose political cartoons often appear in a multi-panel comic-strip format. Ted Rall's Work Style Rall is one of a new breed of editorial cartoonists who began in the alternative weeklies during the 1980s and early 1990s with wordy, abstractly drawn strips about politics and social issues. His abstract drawing style reflects a distinct break from the cross-hatched style developed by Jeff MacNelly during the 1960s, a house style that had become virtually synonymous with American editorial cartooning. CLICK THIS LINK http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/1/19/Rallcartn.png To see a Ted Rall cartoon depicting John Kerry and George W. Bush. Bush is always portrayed as Generalissimo El Busho - a vicious military dictator - in Rall's comics.

But the White House incessantly hypes General Petraeus and his endless military minutia because it distracts our attention from the real issues: failure to achieve the 18 benchmarks of "success." In truth, even the White House apparently doesn't "believe" the Petraeus report. Per Newsweek today: "Newsweek has learned that a separate internal report being prepared by a Pentagon working group will 'differ substantially' from Petraeus’s recommendations, An early version of the report, which is currently being drafted and is expected to be completed by the beginning of next year, will 'recommend a very rapid reduction in American forces: as much as two-thirds of the existing force very quickly, while keeping the remainder there.' " Don't Be Fooled Again Don't be fooled, my friends. Or should I say, fooled again? False promises. Bait-and-switch goals. Bluster and bumbling from the presidential bully pulpit. And always... hiding facts that don't support the agenda.

The resemblances could fill a magazine article as long as Keller’s. Both Bush and Nixon, resentful of the supposed cultural dominance of liberals, perfected a conservative populism that vilifies academics, journalists, bureaucrats and other professionals as out-of-touch elites. Both men, hostile to the news media, rigidly prescribed the messages that their staffers could take to the press. Both vaunted secrecy, restricted access to information, and politicized areas of the government once deemed the province of non-partisan experts. Iraq has generated even more echoes of the Nixon years. In a book review in The New York Times recently, Michiko Kakutani said it was hard to read Robert Dallek’s new tome, “Nixon and Kissinger” without regarding it “as a kind of parable about the presidency of George W.
