LET'S CALL THE WHOLE THING OFF! More Bush Administration's HANDIWORK, to make you Sick, REALLY SICK! Under pressure in 2003 and 2004, the White House agreed to dilute record-keeping proposals by FDA safety experts. "If the FDA had been given the resources and authority years ago that it asked for to solve these kinds of problems, I think we would have solved this already," said W. Hubbard, a former FDA associate commissioner. Tommy Thompson, who was health secretary during the industry's lobbying campaign, acknowledged that a more robust food-tracking system — opposed by business groups as too expensive — could have helped stem the current illnesses More Here: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080725/ap_on_go_ca_st_pe/salmonella_lobbying --- Hey Folks, we're sitting ducks to Big Business desires...      When I first saw Vincent Bugliosi, talk about his book "The Prosecution Of George W Bush for Murder", I was blown away. I thought, he's not just another crackpot trying to sell a crackpot book, he is serious. Bush lied us into an illegal war and thus far, nothing, but words has happened to him and his crew. Is this reality? A reality that allows Bush to go scot-free for so many crimes. With no one not one group to point a finger and demand he pay for his misdeeds. Without a doubt, Bush, appears to be one who IS above the law. Not only is he above the law, he gets help to get away with his transgression. (namely: the FISA vote).... We are, most of us anyway, holding our breaths to see this sad excuse for a man leave the highest office, once and for all. But is that enough? I hope Bugliosi, one of the greatest prosecutors of our time, will not rest until he sees justice served upon George W. Bush. Also watch, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HlISseXFjng

Is The Thrill Gone For Obama Supporters?

    by thinkingblue  7-15-2008    3
Obama Fades? I can't speak for anyone else but for me his glow has dimmed, since he started wearing that flag lapel pin. While living through years of the worst president the US has had at the helm, I could identify the enemy or the Bush supporters by their Bush/Neocon fraternity pins. And I could direct my anger even before the Bushy sycophants opened their bombastic collective rhetorical pie-holes and blather the some ole, same ole. So the flag label pin had become a symbol of pretentious superciliousness to me. Of course, with Obama pandering to the "R's" and the "I's" who voted for Dubya and helped ruin our country and make us a laughing stock all over the world (Remember the headline from the UK’s Daily Mirror: How Can 1,230,065 People Be So Dumb?) may have a little to do with the Obama Fade From Grace. But that PIN is all I see when this eloquent orator takes center stage and its glare has a blinding effect on the reflection of the man behind that "R" studded brooch. :-(

The closer we get to the presidential election the more John McCain looks and acts like George W. Bush. I don't know what his strategy is all about but do we really want another term of the neocons and Bush? I think not! Perhaps, he is banking on another 9/11 or something to shock Americans into the same fear-hold Karl Rove and the rest of the neocon manipulators had on the people...You know that PNAC group (which has since shut down their site...hmmm I wonder why, does rats overboard mean anything?) But, the PNAC in order to unleash their foreign/military campaigns needed a catalyzing event like "a new Pearl Harbor". (neocon quote) 9/11 rode to their rescue. Now they were able to Pied Piper all the little frightened children into the black hole of hell. But their utopian plan did not work out so well. Maybe they need another Pearl Harbor because it seems the little children have lost some of their fear and may need a booster shot. How much more can we take? Obama or Anyone But McBush!

Who is the real John McCain?

    by thinkingblue  6-13-2008
ARIANNA HUFFINGTON Well, first of all, I was not a supporter in that I was planning to vote for him, but I was an admirer of McCain. I considered him a real leader. So even though I disagreed with him on many issues, I saw in him somebody who genuinely wanted to bring about reform and somebody with a real independence streak. So it was really sad for me to see him be willing to sell his soul to become president of the United States. And the fact that he had told me at a dinner in 2000 in the presence of other people, who have corroborated, it seems, that he did not vote for George Bush, is really a perfect indication of who John McCain was in 2000 and why so many people, including so many in the media, fell in love with him. This was a man who was so independent and so abhorred George Bush, whom he described as dangerous... The Supreme Court According To Bush.
    thinkingblue
    by thinkingblue  6-13-2008
The Supreme Court - According to Bush and his merry band of neoconservatives the only function of this Court should be TO DO AS THEY TELL IT TO DO. Well the 4 lackeys' did just that, 2 of which he appointed himself, the others, one his Daddy's choice and the other (he wished he was his daddy) Reagan's. Good ole Reagan appointed Anthony Scalia, (Scalia on capital punishment: "Death is no big deal" {unless of course it's his or his loved ones} - Hypocrisy to the highest degree!) did Bush's bidding just like a good little justice was suppose to do. But the tie breaker was Kennedy (Justice Anthony Kennedy acknowledged the terrorism threat the country faces — the administration's justification for the detentions — but he declared, "THE LAWS AND THE CONSTITUTION ARE DESIGNED TO SURVIVE AND REMAIN IN FORCE, IN EXTRAORDINARY TIMES!") Thank all that is good that Reagan slipped up on this nomination, when he nominated a THINKER to the Supreme Court. Will wonders never cease? thinkingblue

The Bush/Cheney Neocons would have loved patterning the USA after the repressive government of Uzbekistan but thanks to our constitution (a bit tattered from the last 8 years) for not allowing them this fantasy. With all their criminal efforts they have rendered America as the Pot and Uzbekistan the Kettle. The charred blackness which is on the Pot; doesn't see the black on himself and calls the kettle black! Excerpted From Article: But this is Uzbekistan, a repressive country where laws mean little, rights are relative and torture is endemic... After criticism from Wash., Uzbekistan ejected the U S from a military base that was supplying the war effort in Afghanistan. How much influence should the US try to exercise — if any at all — over another country’s behavior? And will that country be receptive, given the abuse, indefinite detentions and closed tribunals that have been part of the United States’ record in recent years?

There are many people alive today because Canada gave them refuge from another felonious war so long ago in Vietnam. Now, they are turning their backs to resisters even though they themselves, decided not to fight an illegal war. Hmmm, I wonder why? In a free country, one should have the right to protest an unjust war but we are not a free country. The conscientious objectors have no where to turn.. They can't go back to their own country and Canada won't allow them to stay within their borders. Isn't it ironic that Bush and Cheney have illegally kidnapped and transported people out of different countries to deliver them for torture, abroad and have yet to receive punishment for their criminal actions. Yet a resister to an unlawful preempted war gets the book thrown at him. You must fight, and possibly die even if it is only for a neocon pipedream... Something is so wrong with this picture. I knew, the great headway that was made to lessen human suffering would probably be overturned and that future supreme decisions would be handled by the judges, W. Bush would get to nominate to give the conservative ideology a court majority. It seems this de ja vu I felt was right on target. It didn't take a rocket scientist to figure this out! In fact, what's going on right in front of our faces while Bush and his scourging cabal thumb their noses at us. Torture has been mentioned briefly by anchors and news sources but then it fades away... The fact that we have used this hellish force on fellow human beings, is something that should never fade. I can't do much, for that matter almost nothing but whenever I can call attention to this dreadful act, I will! I'll spread the word or feelings from the rooftops (or maybe just youtube) about how abominable torture is. But what is even more frightening than torture is that we Americans, have elected leaders who not only use this immoral practice but hold it up as a useful tool touting "the end justifies the means".      The Cold War was the era I grew up in. Russia was bullying the world with a Nuclear threat that made life an every day scary event. Today, our leaders acted as though this peril from Russia was a thing of the past (President Bush’s June 2001 declaration that he had looked Russia’s Vladimir Putin in the eye and “was able to get a sense of his soul”) So with this threat supposedly long gone the Bush administration became solely occupied with a tiny Middle East country who posed no endangerment and was fully contained by sanctions. But still decided to declare war upon it. While the Real Threat quietly menaced in the background and now Russia is using their nuclear arsenal to bully humanity once again.      Oh, horror! Imagine if we eliminated term limits in the US! We could end up stuck with a president -- like Franklin Roosevelt. Worse, if Bill Clinton could have run again, we’d have missed out on the statesmanship of Junior Bush. While US media called Chavez a “tyrant” for suggesting an end to term limits, they somehow forgot to smear the tyrant tag on Mr. Clinton for suggesting the same for the America. We were told by virtually every US news outlet that the referendum was to make Chavez, “President for Life.” The “President for Life” canard was mis-reported by no less than The New York Times. But ending term limits does not mean winning the term. As Chavez himself told me, “It’s up to the people” whether he gets reelected. And that infuriates the US Powers That Be. It’s the Oil. Term limits and work hours in Venezuela? Why was this a crisis for Washington? READ MORE HERE: http://infowars.net/articles/december2007/041207Chavez.htm

Read johnnywaters9999 comment: --- “The US does not torture,” President Bush has repeated often—in the face of terrible pictures from Abu Ghraib and vicious stories from around the world. What is the President saying? Is it a lie or wishful denial, or positive thinking, or casuist ry, or political pandering? Richard Pryor had a comedy routine where he advised husbands caught in flagranto to counter with “are you going to believe me or your lying eyes?” Sometimes we deny by closing our eyes. But sometimes we deny by rationalizing; by attacking the facts with negation and reasoning. President Bush can say the US doesn’t torture because he redefines US and torture. To wit: The US is good and wouldn’t do anything bad. A few bad apple rogue torturers working the night shift at Abu Ghraib aren’t the US. And, aided by lawyers, he torques senseless the meaning of torture, restricting it by abstraction and redefinition, and by the Secretary of Defense special—reduction to the absurd.

Almost 7 years of suffering for most and a devastating downward slide into the abyss for our Nation. I thought when the Dems won the slight majority in 2006... all the negatives Bush and his cabal had unleashed would finally start to turn around and become undone. But little has changed, far from enough. The Big Question is... WILL IT EVER END? And The Big Answer is... MAYBE IT'S TOO LATE! All we can do is sit and wait in THE BUSH ZONE... oh yes, and... HOPE that it's not too late! :-?

BUT SADLY HE APOLOGIZED... When I saw the video of Pete Stark on the floor of the House, giving Bush and his Neocon government HELL. I thought FINALLY, a Dem with balls... I was sickened by Pelosi and the other Dems who did nothing but rebuke Stark who I thought would never apologize for speaking the truth, for saying what we all feel. And then it happened... The SOB, whimpered and bemoaned his regret FOR UTTERING THE TRUTH! DISGUSTING! View the pathetic event here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KzOP1up4Q9M

Finally some clever person put Republicans in the middle of the light bulb screwing joke and IT HITS THE OLD PROVERBIAL NAIL ON IT'S OLD "IF THE SHOE FITS, WEAR IT" BLOCKHEAD! The only screwing light bulb joke EVER without humor! Just to be fair... Here is one about Dems screwing a light bulb: How many Democrats does it take to change a light bulb? One to change the bulb, six to talk about how wonderful it's going to be when the new bulb is screwed in, and ten to argue for increased funding for solar lighting research.

UPDATE: It looks as though the Bush Veto of Schip will stand... Bush is the decider and he has spoken... No expansion of Schip while he is in office. He claims THE COUNTRY DOES NOT WANT TO GO IN THE DIRECTION OF BRINGING PEOPLE OFF PRIVATE HEALTH INSURANCE AND ON TO GOVERNMENT OFFERED INSURANCE. Well, Mr. President, If private health insurance was not OUT OF THIS WORLD in cost... That wouldn't happen. I know he won't hear this because he doesn't listen to we the people. THE ENDLESS SUMMER OF DISTRACTION

This is a well written remarkable story of how our military is showing signs of... ("You've got to know when to hold 'em. Know when to fold 'em. Know when to walk away. Know when to run." The reference to his hit song, "The Gambler," is not facile. The Prussian military theorist Carl von Clausewitz wrote that war, in its complexities and uncertainties, most resembles a game of cards -- let's say Texas Hold'em in honor of the President's adopted state. Over the last four-plus years, we've shoved hundreds of billions of dollars into the Iraqi pot, suffered sobering losses in killed-in-action/wounded-in-action, yet we're still holding losing cards dealt from a stacked deck. Even so, the Bush administration has recently doubled-down instead of folding, hoping to hit an inside straight despite long odds.) MORE BELOW:

BODY OF WAR - Phil Donahue's new documentary -

    by thinkingblue  10-1-2007    1
This is a powerful film enlisting a "REAL" Soldier's plight to live a normal life after being injured in Iraq. His injuries, that left him paralyzed from the waist down, occurred after only 5 days of arrival in the land the Bush Cabal decided to invade. It's heart wrenching and inspiring. With songs written just for "Body Of War" by Eddie Vedder (of Pearl Jam fame). Tomas Young, the young man, the film focuses on (Rush Limbaugh's idea of a FAKE SOLDIER) is so courageous in his battle to maintain his sanity within a broken body. He represents all those who have sacrificed so much for the Neocon's idea of reality, while they (THE PNAC) themselves, forfeited nothing except for power. (which they still do not recognize as lost.) A must see movie for those of us who can see beyond the machismo delusions of war! Please watch the youtube presentation, showing a few scenes leading up to the birth of a magnificent body of work.

House votes to expand SCHIP for kids, PRES. VOWS TO VETO!!!

Well, Mr. President, seems to be standing alone on not wanting children to have health insurance. Almost alone, except for his staunch, true-blue disciples, who take up space, on capital hill. In fact, 159 morally bankrupt Republicans, don't mind turning their backs on the many children who may become very ill or even die because their families won't be able to carry the financial load if something medically serious happens to them. Oh, by the way, funding for the Iraq war could surpass $1 trillion, at a rate of a mere $200,000,000 A DAY! That's OK with Bushie, but allot money to help lower income families have peace of mind and this dullard of a man, we call pres. POUNDS HIS CHEST AND DECLARES HE'LL VETO IT! Sending people's children into an unnecessary war and now giving a thumbs down to bring some daylight into the lives of the financially strapped Americans, makes me wonder. Will his daddy shed some tears for his malevolent son over this one?
