Not quite falling into the statistical poverty class because they may earn a few dollars above the invisible line drawn by economists. Everyday is a challenge for this type of family. Vacations are few, items of luxury don't exist, food is scarce and the roof over their head is always in jeopardy. Because they claw and break their backs to stay slightly above the invisible line... they themselves become invisible. There is an old saying that "The squeaky wheel gets the oil!" and since these people are too damn busy working their tuchus' off, they have no time to squeak until it's too late and they lose their employment or become ill or lose their working partner and then one morning they awaken and find themselves in a freefall under the invisible line quickly heading for the proverbial ROCK-BOTTOM. When minds are so full of the nonsense from the right-wing creeps, who's only objective is to make money and control the masses, they tend to wreck havoc upon the innocent. That’s what we were led to believe. Today, prisons are being built strictly for profit, right under our noses, without our knowledge. Each person’s body they imprison will give the state or county an extra amount of money, so of course the objective is to fill these jails to capacity or overcapacity. Isn’t this a nice legal way to obtain revenue even though it smells of Nazi style fascism? It reminds me of the uproar the “Reagan era system”, created by claiming, poor women have babies just to get an increase in their monthly welfare checks. It's just too easy to click a knob on the old TV or radio and tune into the shows that dumb down their audiences. Also, the Limbaugh's give them a punching bag to direct their pant-up anger at. "They", sent our young people into an unnecessary war deluding the war they waged on the real 9-11 designers in Afghanistan. "They", depleted our liberties under the guise of Homeland Security. "They", took away so much of our National Guard, states were left without a safety net when natural disasters occurred i.e. KATRINA, which we are still being punished for with FEMA's revised Flood Maps. This little doozie is costing Me (A CARD CARRYING MEMBER OF, WE THE PEOPLE) 200 hundred dollars a month for flood insurance, added to my mortgage because the new flood maps put my house smack dab in the middle of a flood zone. Lived in a house for almost 13 years and was high and dry through La Niñas, hurricanes and a few torrential rains replete with strong tornadoes.
