CREDIT CARD GREED

by thinkingblue  12-6-2009
After charging a couple hundred dollars I noticed they had immediately raised my APR a whopping 5%. If they did this so I would see RED..., they sure knew what they were doing. Because I saw every color in the rainbow! I was so angry that I took the allotted money I had put aside for food and paid them off! Also, gave them a piece of my mind in an email. Anyway, here is my vent to the giant credit card gluttons. More at: http://www.thethinkingblue.com/creditcardgreed.html

but they have joined the right’s sycophants and willingly do the bidding of the LOBBY FIRMS in order to receive the dirty money (more like blood money) these cut-throats will give them (to turn a blind eye) in the form of campaign contributions. A shell game of sorts, where the suckers, in many instances, have no idea of what is going on and how it negatively affects their well-being. It's a sad game that cannot be won by anyone who falls into a category called LOW-INCOME. The banks and credit card companies’ makeup all the rules and they are always in their favor. NO ONE, can get out of the traps they set, while they siphon off any earnings said suckers have given their blood, sweat and tears to acquire. It should be a crime because it is criminal but it is not. Watch, learn and weep for those who get snared in THE DEADLIEST CARD GAME IN TOWN, where there is no place to turn for help. Greedaholic Drug Makers Raise Price Before Reform
thinkingblue
by thinkingblue  11-16-2009
Drug makers race to raise prices on drugs to beat the target date of Gov. Overhaul of the health-care system… HUH? First the Credit Card Ind. tries their hand at price gauging before the deadline of Gov. changes go into effect, Feb. 2010. Now BIG PHARMA jumps on the greed bandwagon, putting gluttony above altruism by raising already exuberant drug prices before reform takes place. Is BIG CORP. DADDY beginning to feel the slight strangulation of a Progressive Gov. in control? I don’t think so. What they are feeling is the loss of authority, handed to them on a silver plate by leaders in Congress who only respond to how much $$$ they can get from the greedaholic’s quid pro quo. Giving the SOB’s, carte blanche on what they can do to the rest of us. The fracturing of our fragile consumer driven economic system should have changed their behavior but as the saying goes… You Can’t Teach An Old Dog New Tricks. Only one thing counts, its bottom line ($$$), no matter who gets hurt!

Just when you think the Banks can’t possibly do more to hurt us... They come out with a lalapalooza... They are now going to charge their credit card customers for... hold on to your proverbial hats... INACTIVITY! I heard this on CNN this morning and I couldn't believe it. Bank of America, yup the ones who received $25 billion from the government's $700 billion financial rescue fund, including $10 billion that would have gone to Merrill had it not been acquired by good old Bank of America. Now, instead of just gouging those who are in debt and over a barrel they are targeting people who have enough income and only use credit cards, as a convenience. The question is, are these financially better off consumers going to take it? Or Are they going to (like the rest of us) GET MAD AS HELL AND NOT GONNA TAKE IT NO MO? I hope they will be strong enough, in numbers, to put these greedy banks in their place… If not there is NO JUSTICE! HAPPY NEW YEAR!

National Gaps Between Rich & Poor - USA is No. 3

by thinkingblue  10-19-2009    2
When I saw this headline, I thought for sure the ole USA would be at the top of the list but NO there really are greedier nations (people) residing on this Earth. Though only 2, for USA hit the number 3 slot. It's a pity that the human race has yet to understand that we are all one, all traveling in the same direction of unknowing. Yet material-wise we struggle to have a one-upmanship on one another; a need of sorts to look down your nose at those financially beneath you due to hard luck or heritage. The visualization of this gap is hardest to stomach. With architecturally handsome buildings on one side of the picture (You can envision those within these structures looking out their ivory tower windows at the ants below.) and poor people, on the other side, in fetal-like positions, huddled against buildings to protect themselves from the elements, cold, hungry and hopeless. It’s the food-chain, only the winners aren’t the fittest but the greediest.

Doctors' Piecework: How Many Unnecessary Operations?

by thinkingblue  10-13-2009
I’ve always thought when money is the bottom line, LOOK OUT! Health care is one of those touchy subjects that people would like to feel, money has no power over. How naive! When money is involved, forgetaboutit, you become a $ sign. I once worked for a funeral home and I was amazed how money was the bottom-line. This creative industry didn’t like, waiting for people to die to make their bucks, so they devised something called pre-need funeral contracts. It’s a contract signed by a consumer who agrees to pay installments on goods and services to assure they have the paraphernalia needed to get rid of their earthly remains upon death. The funeral directors (salesmen) get paid a commission on what they sell. So they try to sell the most expensive items (much like car salesmen) to prospective customers often, resulting in aggressive, hard selling. It’s disgusting, but not as bad as doctors convincing patients to undergo unnecessary procedures to increase their OWN wealth. THAT’S SICK!

How disgusting is this? Limbaugh agrees with the Taliban because they are bashing the President of the United States of America on winning the Nobel Peace Prize. Talk about a Fifth Column? This is Rush Limbaugh's official reaction to the news that our president was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize: "Our president is a worldwide joke. Folks, do you realize something has happened here that we all agree with the Taliban and Iran about -- and that is he doesn't deserve the award? Now that's hilarious, that I'm on the same side of something with the Taliban." ----- Hey Rush, you may be on the same side as the Taliban but let me inform you, YOU DOG!  Although, I don’t relate to this woman's belief system, I DO relate to her as a consumer. All of us who have struggled with credit card debt and job losses know the frustrations of climbing a greased pole. The banks have been putting the screws to us for a long time. As a child, I would hear adults talking about LOAN SHARKS. On TV there were stories of bones being broken for non-payment by such LOAN SHARKS who charged exorbitant interest fees. I was glad to find out, this technique was illegal and US banks could never resort to such tactics to coerce payment. In adulthood, I learned quickly, that there were legal procedures of torture, no physical bone breaking but just as vexing. In Capitalism, the torture is mental and longer lasting. Today’s banks use teaser loans to lure us, once we’re captured by their come-ons they pounce and raise the APR's so high, that there is no escape from debt. I salute this lady who didn't take it lying down! She threw a few punches back!

The Republican Party has been using mob scenes for some time now... There was the 2000 election when they brought in their thugs to stop the recount. Then again during election times, especially the McCain/Palin rallies. Mob mentality was in vogue during that conservative get-togetherness. Palin, along with her talk radio groupies would tell their base anything, short of go out and lynch the opposition, to rile their followers into a hateful bunch of bigots. Now again, they are at it with their dusting off of the ugly mob crowds and sending them out to descend upon democratic town hall meetings. These people (MOBS) are blatantly hateful and law abiding citizens don't know what to make of their anger... and that's exactly how they win.  When I read this short letter, I thought about how so many people of low income are ashamed that they appear to those educated and well-off as poor and indigent. The shame should fall on the country itself. How cold a government who could care less if all its citizens does not have access to good affordable health care? I can't believe I have lived this long and the debate is still going on. Affordable health care for all should be the number one issue for all our political leaders. Why it is not, is the true shame of this country. If we go another generation without health care for all, we don't deserve to speak out against any other country’s lack of human rights. Homeless children, in America, being acceptable is very unacceptable. As soon as families started joining the ranks of the homeless, someone, wielding power, should have said ENOUGH! And the NIP THIS IN THE BUD should have begun. But today, it's OK to have homelessness, it's OK to have medically uninsured people, it's OK to have hunger. And the working poor? It looks like Congress (under Obama) has grown some brass balls (MUCHO CAHONES) and closed a loophole the Bush/ Supreme Court, had used to “screw” women in the work force … It’s been a long time coming! Perhaps the weight they’ve (mostly republican corporate sympathizers) have put upon the average American’s back is starting to crumble the whole country, (republican corporate sympathizers included) so it’s time to take a second look at the hardships they’ve created for those (the majority) at the bottom. I have been disappointed in the past at how the R-conservative’s have buffaloed the D-liberal’s into accepting the many inequities they, so joyfully spread over the land, as GOOD FOR AMERICA. Maybe now, with Obama at the helm, we can once again laud their efforts to bring about LIBERTY AND JUSTICE FOR ALL. :-D PS: Let’s see Bush carry out his last threat to VETO this one… Any wagers?

Show Me Your Papers - Nazi Germany in America

Building more jails and prisons, was always an acceptable practice. After all, how can “they” protect “their” citizens from evil criminals? That’s what we were led to believe. Today, prisons are being built strictly for profit, right under our noses, without our knowledge. Each person’s body they imprison will give the state or county an extra amount of money, so of course the objective is to fill these jails to capacity or overcapacity. Isn’t this a nice legal way to obtain revenue even though it smells of Nazi style fascism? It reminds me of the uproar the “Reagan era system”, created by claiming, poor women have babies just to get an increase in their monthly welfare checks. What a stigma that was on mothers living in poverty, standing in line at the bank to cash their monthly living allotment. The shame the government, OUR GOVERNMENT heaped upon such families, simply because they asked for a helping hand from a coldhearted system. (more below) or http://thinkingblue.blogspot.com

Be Very Wary of Conservatives

The rightwing is still trying to gut worthwhile projects that will allow people a bigger voice. They’ve been doing this for years with the backing of the very people who will be significantly hurt by such gutting. Such as Trickle Down Economics (The providing tax cuts to businesses and the rich, in the belief that it will trickle down to those on the bottom.) We are witnessing, the damage from this pipedream. Another is the Wolfowitz or later renamed Bush Doctrine (in so many words) a fantasy or belief that Democracy could be forced on other nations through pre-emptive war. Sadness abound from this one. Then the use of fear to gut our freedoms. Using newspeak to get the power they lust for, which was disastrous to our freedoms. Their plots have been exposed but we still need to remain diligent. The rightwing’s desire for status quo is still intact, and they will still pull the wool over our eyes to deny us the ability to protect what is best for us. http://seiu.org/employeefreechoice/

Employee Free Choice Act

by thinkingblue  11-18-2008
We The People, may finally have a voice now that Barack Obama is our President. Hope is overflowing for the downtrodden American worker who saw labor hour increases while compensation decreased due to the many monitory escalations of Energy, Food, Shelter, Healthcare and Clothing. Disparity was the rule. This Employee Free Choice Act must be passed so that the American worker can start climbing out of the quagmire, too many years of Corporate rule put us in. Sibling Rivalries, The Story of (Mc) Cain and Abel
thinkingblue
by thinkingblue  10-25-2008
As soon as I read this story, an old biblical folklore came to mind... The one about Cain (without the Mc) and his brother Abel. Abel, the first murder victim, is sometimes seen as the first martyr; while Cain, the first murderer, (or in Mc's case, the character assassinator) is sometimes seen as a progenitor (originator) of evil. There is another verse from the bible that could fit here, as well. "He Who Lives in a Glass House Shouldn't Throw Stones at Others!" In other words, people should not attack others for their flaws when they have the same flaws. Or better yet, this phrase not from the bible... "What goes around comes around". or, "If you do something bad to another, (eventually) you will get hurt too!" Nuff said, John McCain! :p See video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FcCe7ogI33k

Talk About Socialism - A Case For Obama
thinkingblue
by thinkingblue  10-23-2008
The McCain-Palin Campaign has stooped so low it’s hard to believe it is an USA Org.... Did I just say that? The GOP can only win through dirty politics, or so they presume. The code words they use, seem so misplaced in today disastrous economy, which will only get much worse. (Especially, under a McCain/Palin administration) We will never see the end of all the sick, malicious name-calling and assassination of character during elections, unless the American voter will stop acting like frightened children, voting for fear-mongers who scare the BEJESUS out of them. This article shows why, John McCain BETTER NOT become the next president. If he does, our nation most likely, will not survive the slide the Republicans have brought about with their small government mantra, unregulated market creed and trickle-down, fairytale economics which means... huge welfare checks given to the rich, who are suppose to, in return, share with us at the bottom. Talk about socialism.

McCain/Palin and the Lunatic Fringe

by thinkingblue  10-21-2008    1
When reporters tried to leave the designated press area and head toward the bleachers where the crowd was seated, an escort would dart out of nowhere and confront him or her and say, "Can I help you?'' and turn the person around. When one reporter asked an escort, who would not give her name, why the press wasn't allowed to mingle, she said that in the past, negative things had been written. The campaign wanted to avoid that possibility Monday. http://blogs.tampabay.com/breakingnew... What is the McCain Camp trying to hide? Perhaps all the negativity has awakened the large Lunatic Fringe inside the republican base and The McCain Campaign does not want the rest of us to see their ignorance. A youtube member got around the restrictions and was able to capture some of these pathetic souls in all their ignorance.
