The Cutest Adverisement Ever Made!
thinkingblue
by thinkingblue  7-10-2009    1
I know advertisements are simply meant to separate us from our hard earned cash and most of the time they are quite annoying. But this one is a delight. So enjoy... and you don't have to run out and buy a bottle of Evian water to marvel in it's high technology. You might even say, it's sort of FREE! :-D

Snowball The Dancing Cockatoo (Scary)
thinkingblue
by thinkingblue  6-2-2009    4
This cockatoo is something else. He dances to the rhythm of the beat like any well coordinated human being with the talent of dance. Watching this bird get down makes you wonder what is going on in that tiny little brain of his. There definitely is someone home. Scientist are baffled by this... see more at this site: http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=103629651&sc=emaf and http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/science/nature/8027379.stm original video on Youtube below: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GYMBIGTteWA

Racial Evolution of Porgy and Bess
thinkingblue
by thinkingblue  1-2-2009
Gershwin’s play Porgy and Bess, inadvertently highlights the tensions between the races through the decades. This article chronicles how this genius work of art affected American society during its journey to the ultimate goal of “ALL MEN ARE CREATED EQUAL”. Now that America has succeeded in its struggle to finally cross the barrier of racial divide (once called equal but separate) and elect an African American as its top executive and commander in chief, a look back at this poignant and beautiful work seems apropos. The music in this opera will forever be remembered and embraced by any who possess the almost magical ability to empathize with other creatures of existence. Once heard you'll never forget songs like, IT AIN’T NECESSARILY SO http://www.lyricsmode.com/lyrics/g/george_gershwin/it_aint_necessarily_so.html and SUMMERTIME http://www.lyricsmode.com/lyrics/g/george_gershwin/summertime.html Thanks to http://delanceyplace.blogspot.com/ for bringing this to my attention.

Beautiful Light Display At A State Park In Fl
thinkingblue
by thinkingblue  12-23-2008    1
Stephen Foster State Park... This year their Christmas light display is fantastic... The manager of the park took pictures, and put them on a CD. Although the pictures were great they seemed empty without music and effects, so I did a video with music as this year's Christmas e-card for all... Keep in mind these trees are mature LIVE OAKS and beautiful in their own right but the lights set them ablaze, capturing their mighty magnificence. Keep hope alive for 2009... HAPPY NEW YEAR! thinkingblue aka Carolyn PS: Also can be viewed here: http://www.thethinkingblue.com/pics/statepark2008.html

Have You Heard Of Rene Margritte? No? Too Bad!
thinkingblue
by thinkingblue  11-21-2008    3
I haven't (a cloistered life I've led). That is until this morning, when Google used one of his surrealist portraits as their logo to celebrate his birthday. This artist came upon Earth with little fanfare and left in the same manner. He did impact his being through his art and I am glad I stumbled or should I say Googled across the mark he left behind. Excerpted from his bio at: http://www.brain-juice.com/cgi-bin/show_bio.cgi?p_id=22 Magritte died - 8/15/67 - He lived humbly. He didn’t draw much attention to himself - Magritte managed to leave an artistic legacy of transforming the ordinary into the fantastic. Historians attribute Magritte's art to his desire to oppose and combat the triviality of everyday life, others say his work goes beyond escapism and serves to reveal a murkier and complex aspect of the human condition. - it is certain that Magritte's work is - hauntingly beautiful and deeply provocative.
