The Homeless and Snow
thinkingblue
by thinkingblue  Today 8:19 AM    5
For these unfortunates an insufferable blizzard can mean life or death. I happened across this video (never shown in our mainstream corporate media) and was taken aback that I never gave a thought to those who try to survive living on the street. It’s hard enough during clement weather for these people to find the means of survival but in harsh conditions many of them either die are become very ill. Seeing the homeless should make us all chant “There but for the grace of god goes I” because in a greedy capitalistic society we are all vulnerable to such a fate. In a corporate culture people have no value other than the purchase power they possess. If ever you lose that means, you become useless and invisible to those who hold the reigns over your destiny.

Hungry Ghosts

by thinkingblue  2-6-2010    2
I saw an interview on Dem. Now the other day which was absorbing to say the least. Amy Goodman had Dr. Gabor Mate from Canada on her show and what he had to say was eye-opening. Dr. Mate approaches addiction with a new attitude and U.S. doctors and medical caregivers should listen up. A few quotes: AMY GOODMAN: What does the title of your book mean, In the Realm of Hungry Ghosts? DR. GABOR MATÉ: Well, it’s a Buddhist phrase. In the Buddhists’ psychology, there are a number of realms that human beings cycle through, all of us. One is the human realm, which is our ordinary selves. The hell realm is that of unbearable rage, fear, you know, these emotions that are difficult to handle. The animal realm is our instincts and our id and our passions. Now, the hungry ghost realm, the creatures in it are depicted as people with large empty bellies, small mouths and scrawny thin necks. They can never get enough satisfaction. MORE BELOW

Honesty Came To O'Reilly's "No" Spin Zone Today.

Imagine, a wee little bit of honesty coming to Fox (News?). The "No" Spin Zone with its host, BallyHooey Bill-O, who wouldn’t know honesty if it ran up and hit him over the head, (which the intellectually witty Jon Stewart virtually did) welcomed Jon Stewart on February 3, 2010. Wow! The mental contrast of bright and dull, between the two, almost seems unfair to imbalanced O’Reilly. But believe it or not it was somewhat entertaining if you could overlook the childish name calling from O'Reilly. He is so use to his Romper Room Tactics that he would not be able to get through a day without them. Hats Off To Jon Stewart The Most Trusted Wit On TV!

A Glimpse At The United Corporations of America's Future

by thinkingblue  2-2-2010
This article shows how a Corporation (PERSON) responds to an economic slump. (By frantically trying to figure out how to get customers back to stuff unhealthy food products down their unwitting throats again.) It’s a peek at what We the Non-Corp. “People” are in for. Plummeting sales make them scramble to come up with new ideas to bring their ever loving profit margin back up to greed speed, proving (as if we didn’t know) that profits rule and the Corp. type “People” care about little else. So, in the future when the Corp.”People" start buying our politicians... the ones who they can readily scratch their backs with some scratch ($) and get them elected so laws can be changed in a Corp.’s favor, like lowering quality of already crappy food because FDA will surely be in their pockets also and recalls will be a thing of the past. We the Non-Corp. “people” will be left holding the Burger King and McHappy Meal bags. Welcome to the new Robert's vision of the United Corporations of America!

I was so upset when this O'Keefe and his criminals did something similar at the ACORN, ‘Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now’ headquarters. And I couldn't believe how easily our politicians rushed to judge this humanitarian organization based solely on the sneaky shenanigans of these privileged few. Who were able to expose a minute number of poor silly employees who had very little common sense or they would have seen the ridiculousness of a PIMP and his PROSTITUTE coming to ACORN for advice on their Illegal activity. The GOP is notorious for their “GOTCHA” tactics and they seem to raise their children to follow suit. A thinking person feels so helpless when something so unjust happens and you can't do squat about it. I live on a modest fixed income but I had to donate to ACORN to show my support for this association that was being unfairly penalized. I am thoroughly disgusted with The Karl Rovian strategies that the Republican Party encourages its members to use.

Anyone who is still on the fence about whether it’s the Reps. or the Dems. that will fix our country and bring it out of the mess it’s in; they should jump off to the Left side, after seeing this. The Reps. have had a strangle hold on our nation for years and what have they done? NOTHING! Wait a minute, that's not quite true... They have all but destroyed it… stepping over the corpses of the people while they go on playing their insane games. What will it take? Total failure I guess, because even while America is suffering these so called conservatives have turned, Corps. into People, Handed healthcare over to the ins. companies, Depleted any chance of paying off the Nat’l Debt and have turned their back on our future.  Prejudice-A Google search, finds racial prejudice as a social disease, rearing its ugly head out in fear, intolerance & hatred, underlying cause, ignorance. (Enlightenment) Long ago humans evolved in different parts of the world, after a giant leap from primitive brain to critical thinking one. Some say animal to human brain. If that were the case, a human/ape probably shouted “HEY, LOOK I AIN’T ANIMAL NO MORE!” Today, some of us won’t accept that we are part of the animal kingdom, BUT WE ARE. (Unless we evolve into veggies, good possibility for some.) Back to my point, since humans evolved on different parts of our Earth, climate was the main factor upon their appearance. Cold climates begat light skin (sun far away, less pigment). Hot climates, you know the rest. It’s a simplification of people’s differences, but since I started thinking this way, I see people’s outer diversity, in terms of places their heritage evolved. Now, I need to find some tolerance TOWARDS THE NONTHINKING?

Buzz Up Article Brings Bigots Out In Droves

by thinkingblue  1-26-2010    1
I've used Buzz Up but after realizing most of the people who comment, are non-thinking right-wing bigots, so I’ve shied away from it. I came across this article about Lt. Gov. Andre Bauer and his unspeakable remarks about poor people and how most Dems have railed against such distasteful bigotry. It made the Buzz Up-ers angry because they agree with the intolerant ARSE Bauer. Instead of counter commenting, I decided to flag it. Below my comment. The story wasn’t offensive per se; it reported on the bigotry in politics. The comments, on the other hand were so offensive, they made me ashamed to call myself an American. Why are right-wingers so hateful? I don’t use Buzz because it attracts bigots. Buzz has become a place where they can spew animosity towards anyone who doesn't resemble themselves in body or mind. They are proud to admit their ignorance and pat each other on their virtual backs in agreement. Thumbs up on hate and down on any contradiction to their idea of reality. :-?

Very interesting, Financial Experts agree that people should walk away from the burden of paying a mortgage on a house that’s not worth the dirt it was built upon. I'm glad to hear murmurings from the “EXPERTS” like… HEY, IT'S OK TO DEFAULT. IT’S OK TO GO BANKRUPT. IT’S OK TO ASK FOR HELP. For too long, social safety-nets were only respectable for Corps. For the rest of us this need was touted as shameful. The GOP and BLUEDOGS, since Reagan, have been quite vocal in suggesting that not having enough income to make ends meet is, FAILURE. Of course, not enough income (capital) for business was excused as something outside a corps’s own doing, in other words NOT THEIR FAULT. Welfare reform won approval and was passed by a Repub in Dem’s clothing. The upshot from this little humdinger made it almost a crime to ask for help, unless of course you were... A CORPORATION. Since SCOTUS deemed corporations, people… they should be subject to the same SHAME as the rest of us “PEOPLE”.

So what’s new? Whenever there’s anything that comes to light exposing the evils of greed and the exaltation of Nature, out come the Conservative Gormandizers to stamp it out. It's as though they can only view life as a mercenary deal and Nature a commodity. “Avatar” was one of those rare movies laying message that maybe there is a better way to live life. The theme, to me anyhow, was to feel all life as one, interconnected and only as strong as its weakest point. If we could think all life adjoined it would make our Earth experience so superior. But unfortunately “Avatar” is fantasy. Our living planet is violent and the food chain quite harsh with most life forms enslaved by instincts. Humans could lift themselves from the instinct to kill for profit but HOLY CONSERVATIVE, there’s no lucre in that. So a bitter road we travel. But once in awhile an entertainment piece comes out that lifts us from this burdensome quandary, momentarily. AND THE GREEDY BASTARDS STOMP TO PUT IT DOWN!

Our health care system wouldn’t be gouging, excluding and bankrupting us while those in charge of who gets what, when it come to medical care, get richer. Reckless wars would not happen. 911 wouldn’t have occurred. There’d be no executions because Capital Punishment would be null. No homelessness, no hunger, and best of all no Beck or Limbaugh because their agenda of hate would not be tolerated. But alas, that America does not prevail.  These are the kind of stories that demonstration how broken and totally unfair our justice system is. Anyone with a couple of "thinking" brain cells would realize that when it comes to human existence, right vs. wrong is not an exact science. Human emotion always trumps common sense if laws aren't there to intervene. This is a good reason why the DEATH PENALTY should be abolished. Many western societies who have advanced so beyond the mentality of the USA in sophistication have long understood this. I love my country but too many Americans who also profess love for this country will at the drop of a hat bark, HANG EM or OFF WITH HIS HEAD, and follow through if they could because of an naive notion that ONE SIZE FITS ALL.  Bishop Tobin continues to dip his fingers and toes into the holy waters of the state. Acting as though he was god, he continues to threaten politicians who do not buckle under the pressures of his religious dogma. Not having dominance over those who have not been indoctrinated in the Catholic ideology (which must really piss this guy off) he badgers those who he can badger. Threatening them, that only he and his church can guarantee their ticket into heaven and only if they do his bidding. What total and archaic nonsense. Tobin the Thug probably would be sentencing people to the guillotine if he had been born hundreds of years ago when (in the western hemisphere) church and state were one. Now, I am sure there are intelligent clergy among those in the hierarchy of the Catholic church who believe and teach their flock that religion and state should be separated but apparently Bishop Tobin or should I say Holiest Highness Tobin is NOT ONE OF THEM. What they are feeling is the loss of authority, handed to them on a silver plate by leaders in Congress who only respond to how much $$$ they can get from the greedaholic’s quid pro quo. Giving the SOB’s, carte blanche on what they can do to the rest of us. The fracturing of our fragile consumer driven economic system should have changed their behavior but as the saying goes… You Can’t Teach An Old Dog New Tricks. Only one thing counts, its bottom line ($$$), no matter who gets hurt!

Did you ever pick up a newspaper and wished you hadn't? Well that's what happened to me this morning. It wasn't an actual real time Newspaper but in today's world it was a Newsdig but I still wished that I hadn't clicked! First it was a, Health Care {NO} Reform won by the Health Care and insurance Industry. Then the gloom and doom news from Afghanistan. It's enough to make you put on a pair of rose colored glasses or stick your head in the sand. But alas, I can't do that, because then I would become part of the (Sarah Palin - Michele Bachmann et al ) crazy lunatic fringe mob on the right!

An Egregious Tragedy Has Taken Place

... into its clutches. It didn't happen to my child but it did, to someone who lived in my community. His name was Adam Walsh and he was a year younger than my own. The Walsh's horrible story, could have been mine. I, many times frequented the same place as Adam and his mom and I forever shuddered to think it my child who was cut from the herd and open to attack. We as a society should warn our children and ourselves that we are but one or two seconds from something so heinous that our lives would never recover. Whenever our children leave the safety of our sight, we should tell them, "Never allow a stranger to talk lies, in order to hurt you. Scream, cry, run and fight if need be, not to be taken by anyone.” Every child, every young person who falls victim to the savages amongst us, must be a reminder that we live in a jungle of predators but worse, these fiends look like us, so we have to be even more vigilant than jungle prey.
