POPSA MUST for Windows Users! Get it NOW!! This s/w allows you to create alias for ANY folder. This is similar to what the web does with using names instead of IP address (e.g. www.cnn.com instead of 122.1.2.2). This program allows you to name say, c:\my documents\my pictures\family photos\wedding pics as simply Wedding Pics. Then whenever you want to get to that folder simply right click anywhere on the desktop, choose folder guide, then choose Wedding Pics. 3 whole clicks! You can also use this in 'Save As' dialogs. Simply right click in the area where the folders are and do the same thing. I don't know why Microsoft didn't include this as a default tool. I wonder if it's in vista or not. A great program that does something right....and it's FREE!!!

POPSThe key to oil independence is a new electrical grid It seems that with alternative sources of energy, such as wind and solar, the United States has the potential means to substantially reduce our dependence on oil - especially once plug-in cars are on the market. But until we substantially upgrade our nation's electrical grid with modern technology that will enable the energy created by these sources to be transmitted intelligently around the county, their impact will be limited. It's going to take a greater commitment from Congress to jump start this. Making it happen will provide a huge boost to our economy, environment and political leverage with the Middle East, Russia, Venezuela and more.

POPSexeLibrary - For when you want to know what that running file really is So, something is slowing down your computer. You bring up the Task Manager and see that lsass.exe is taking up all your CPU time. What the heck is lsass.exe? It sounds scary, probably a virus or something right? Go to this site and you'll find out that it is: he local security and authentication server system. SpeedUpMyPC is designed specifically for optimizing lsass.exe!

POPSWarsaw Ghetto and Gaza: Disturbing Parallels It was after the Jews in the ghetto had been largely killed or transported that the world stood up and felt guilty in not acting sooner. I question when the world will stand up and say: Enough is enough, there is not going to be a repeat of the Warsaw Ghetto and particularly when its perpetrators are those who suffered the most by its conduct.

POPSFixing it could improve our lives—and the planet: Batteries... It's an issue that goes beyond cars and mobile devices. To reduce carbon emissions, utilities are likely to shift more generating capacity from coal and natural gas to renewable sources like wind and solar. Solar cells and wind turbines require batteries because they provide power intermittently.

POPSIf you aren't sick now, you soon will be Unreal. But wait, Obama PROMISED his taxes would not effect anyone making under $250k a year. You mean he lied? No way. So, once GWB's tax cuts for the rich expire, the average family making $40,000 a year see an increase of over $1000 in federal taxes. Then, Cap & Trade will cost us around $4000 a year in higher utilities and costs (and I think that is way underestimated) Then, forced health care will run another $12k for a family. Then what? Wonder how we will pay to feed our kids? Oh, that's right, tax the "rich" and give the rest of us food stamps. Great plan. Really doubt it will workout for most of us.

POPSNew Mexico: Land of Enchantment , Clean Energy State. Although 25 states have approved their own RPS, a national standard has stalled in the face of resistance from traditional coal-powered utilities and their allies in Congress. Wind and biomass are popular in New Mexico, but the desert sun that draws millions of tourists here also makes its solar power potential the second largest in America. So it is that the Clean Energy State's future just may lie in the south corner of the capital city, at the end of a dry road marked by a mile-long sculpture of a snake with jewelled eyes. ... POPSPlug-in Prius Testing Begins in London Toyota and EDF Energy are using an innovative charging and invoicing system which is incorporated into the PHV. This system is compatible with a new generation of public charging stations, which aim to make electric power more accessible on public roads and car parks, and will reduce the cost to the customer. EDF Energy has helped to install the first of 40 charging posts in the UK, with plans to help install more in the coming months. A PHV uses Toyota's hybrid technology with the added benefit that the vehicle's batteries can be fully recharged using a standard electrical plug or an electrical charging post to extend its driving range in electric mode. For short distances, PHV can be driven as an electric vehicle, resulting in a silent, zero emissions drive. For longer distances, PHV works as a conventional hybrid vehicle.

POPSNo Traffic? Michigan to Build Interstate Traveler Hydrogen Super Highway Michigan to build the country's first Maglev public transportation system: to be constructed between Detroit and Ann Arbor. Interstate Traveler Hydrogen cars will carry people, cars (drive on/off) and cargo. Construction is set to begin this year (2008). Interstate Traveler Hydrogen Super Highway? It is a collection of vital municipal utilities bundled into a Conduit Cluster: a public transit network built along the right of way of the US Interstate Highway Systems, and any other permissible right of way where such a machine would be of benefit. It will be a integration of solar powered hydrogen production and distribution with a high speed magnetic levitation ( MagLev ). A Maglev, or magnetically levitating, train is a form of transportation that suspends, guides and propels vehicles (predominantly trains) using electromagnetic force. The first commercial Maglev was opened in 1984 in Birmingham, England.
