POPSTomb May Hold Answer to How Much Shakespeare Actually Wrote Saunders insists it is worth exploring. “Fulke spent the equivalent of £300,000 today on a marble sarcophagus at St Mary's,” he told the Telegraph. “No man would build something like that and leave it empty. There is definitely something down there and we want to find out what it is.” Were the numerous works, including plays and poems, attributed to William Shakespeare really written by the actor from Stratford-upon-Avon? There have been plenty of scholars convinced otherwise, and candidates other than Greville include Sir Francis Bacon, fellow playwright Christopher Marlowe and others.

POPSWhat is the hidden cost of your £2 latte? More from the piece: Black Gold - which cost £325,000 to make - has made waves at film festivals in Melbourne, Rio de Janeiro, Rome and all over America. It was shown to MPs at Westminster earlier this year. Next Saturday, the Francis brothers are to speak at a preview screening at the Guardian Hay Festival in Hay-on-Wye, and the film goes on general release the following week. Nick said: 'We want to make people think about what's at the bottom of the coffee cup, and that has set alarm bells ringing in the big companies. Questions are being asked about how they can talk a lot about corporate responsibility yet not pay coffee farmers a decent price. We've had shareholders and employees of those companies writing to us saying, "We didn't know this." One worker in Starbucks said he was never going to serve latte in the same way again.

POPS London, The City Of Dreams
A Quick Look London was established by the Romans in the 1st century CE and was called Londinium. It went through a series of conquests, and in 1066 the Normans selected Westminster as their center of government. London became one of Europe's largest cities, and — even after being struck by Black Death in the 14th century, by plague and the Great Fire of London in the 17th century, and by German bombs during World War II — it has remained one of the world's most influential cities. Today, London, with its population of more than seven million, is the capital of England and the United Kingdom and a center of business, finance, politics, culture, arts and style, as well as a busy port city. Greater London stretches over both sides of the Thames River and consists of 32 boroughs that surround the City of London — a one-square-mile area that includes the old city of London and what constitutes the commercial hub of today's London. http://www.answers.com/topic/london

POPSPoets of the Great War Anthem for Doomed Youth What passing-bells for these who die as cattle? -- Only the monstrous anger of the guns. Only the stuttering rifles' rapid rattle Can patter out their hasty orisons. No mockeries now for them; no prayers nor bells; Nor any voice of mourning save the choirs, -- The shrill, demented choirs of wailing shells; And bugles calling for them from sad shires. What candles may be held to speed them all? Not in the hands of boys but in their eyes Shall shine the holy glimmers of goodbyes. The pallor of girls' brows shall be their pall; Their flowers the tenderness of patient minds, And each slow dusk a drawing-down of blinds. September-October 1917 Wilfred Owen (1893-1918)

POPSGay holocaust victims to be remembered in Westminster Homosexuals who were murdered by the Nazis during the Holocaust will be recognized along with all the other victims. For years the gay victims of this historic tragedy were essentially ignored. But times have changed, and so has society's willingness to see beyond their petty ignorance, and realize that the gay people who were sent to the camps suffered as much as the Jews, gypsies, handicapped and others who were interred by these miserable animals who incarcerated, tortured and murdered millions. Pain and suffering know no prejudice.
