Why I use Clipmarks
I use Clipmarks mostly to save and categorize information I might need or might want to re-read later. Some information seems so good, I don't want to lose hold of it.
Sometimes I clip to share information I find interesting.

 International humanitarian relief organizations are sharply restricted in their activities ; badly needed food supplies are not getting through. The June 19 - December 19 truce was conditional on an end the siege and the blockade of Gaza, and partial opening the Egyptian border crossing. Neither Israel (nor Egypt) has respected these conditions ; the Palestinian population has been the victim of inhuman treatment, for weeks, months and years now. Are we to ignore these realities in order to justify the massacres now unfolding before our eyes ? Are the Palestinians responsible for their own misfortune because rockets were launched from Gaza ? The failure of memory is compounded by a loss of all sense of proportion : the number of Israeli victims is now multiplied by a factor of one hundred, two hundred, three hundred Palestinian civilians murdered by Israeli government fiat.

 We act like our tiny little corner of mindspace is the whole universe. We think of the scale of intelligence as if it ran from a village idiot to Einstein, rather than running from an amoeba up to humans. On the scale of interspecies differences of intelligence–if you are comparing yourself to a mouse–then the distance between a village idiot and Einstein fits onto a small dot. You might be able to tell the difference between a village idiot and an Einstein, but a chimpanzee would have a bit of trouble administering the IQ test.

 Fun reading. "XML is ten years old today. It feels like yesterday, or a lifetime. I wrote this that year (1998). It’s really long. ... I never got around to publishing it, so why not now? Remember, it’s ten years old; some of the people and companies are in different places now."
