POPSA very vampiric insect: the assassin bug! I thought this wasn't real....it sounds like an old school vamp. It's violent and sucks their prey dry (animals, other insects, a wide array--even humans!) They sound like badass mini monstrosities.*runs screaming from those dreaded, vile bugs*

POPSAnts who torture their prey...for fun! Tree ants (Allomerus decemarticulatus) in the Amazon contruct elaborate traps for other insects they feed upon. They build these traps from tree fibers reinforced with fungus. When an unsuspecting insect encounters the trap, the ants emerge from hiding underneath and pull the prey’s legs to immobilize them, almost like a torture rack. Then they dismember the victim and carry the parts off to the colony. This method of “drawing and quartering” allows the ants to dine on insects much larger than themselves.

POPSNephila pilipes This is another type of golden orb-web spider. It's found in forest and gardens. It's mostly found in Asian countries.

POPSFemale Daddy Long-Legs I see these types of spiders a lot in my room and in the basement. They're freaky and I'm happy they can't hurt humans.

POPSJapanese Huntsman (spider) Here's a Japanese variety of the Huntsman spider. (Apparently I found quite a lot of species of these from many countries, so I'll pick out the coolest ones)

POPSA freaky Huntsman spider This, unfortunately, is a real spider. I've never seen one this big (except for the Wolf spider). It looks like something from the film Arachnophobia on steroids.
