POPSScience is Hard! At least he's being honest and now we know why Evolution isn't popular in the United States... It's too hard to understand.

POPSNov. 14, 1889: Around the World in Only 72 Days Inspired by Jules Verne's wildly popular 1873 novel, Around the World in 80 Days, Bly proposed to her editors at the New York World that she undertake the same trip to try and break the fictional record. Traveling by steamer, train, rickshaw and any number of other conveyances, she did -- by eight days. She left Hoboken, New Jersey, on the German liner Augusta Victoria and returned to New York on Jan. 25, 1890. Bly received a tumultuous welcome, including a parade, and became a national figure. Her account of the journey, Around the World in 72 Days, sold exceptionally well.

POPSDemocrats are lying almost as often as the Republicans, about the Iraq War I know the republican war hawks lie to keep the Iraq war going on... there's big profit in it so they take advantage of that but what is little known is, democrat leaders are lying too. John Edwards on his paid rebuttal message said as much... "IN MAY HE (BUSH) VETOED A PLAN TO END THE WAR, DEMANDED MORE TIME TO SHOW THE SURGE COULD WORK AND "CONGRESS" GAVE IT TO HIM..." Come on democrats remember what Abe Lincoln once said... You can fool some of the people all the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you cannot fool all of the people all the time. YOU CAN'T FOOL MOST OF US FOR TOO MUCH LONGER... We're on to you!

POPSCutting Through Bush Propaganda Classic clear thinking by Keith Olbermann on the anniversary of "Mission Accomplished". I cannot imagine a rational and cogent conservative rebuttal of Keith's incisive commentary. Spin can't spin this truth in the hard light of day.

POPSYOU'RE ON THE AIR WITH RUSH LIMBAUGH. On the website http://www.thethinkingblue.com/limbaughcomments.html is a remake of the Rush Limbaugh video from YOUTUBE The only changes I made were the pictures. The original film had images of the devastation of war, on all people involved, the men, women and children caught in the horrors of war. I don't know why YOUTUBE pulled the video but I thought perhaps it was because of those sad pictures. We Americans get a WHITEWASHED version of the war and maybe YOUTUBE wanted to keep it that way. But if it was because of what Rush Limbaugh said on the uncut audio of his show and YOUTUBE was protecting him... THE SHAME IS ON YOUTUBE, who like so many on the right spin, twist and cajole TRUTH until it no longer resembles actuality, just so it will fit their account of reality. You can also view the video on the camaroz28 server: http://videos.camaroz28.com/video/6ebe1dc3-e5e0-4a3a-bcc4-99d401031775.htm

POPSSeeing in the Dark Great show. A complete rebuttal to the book "The Cult of the Amateur". I believe that everyone begins as an amateur.

POPSDude verbally whales on Pres. bush... TO HIS FACE! Pres. Bush lets the guy speak, and get everything off his chest, then rebuts. I just wish i had a clip showing the full rebuttal, but what that guy said must be the worst thing any civilian has ever said to a president, and lived to tell about it.

POPSReality Intrudes Again The 1000 letter limit in clipmarks doesn't allow full disclosure of the above clip. I encourage all to read the whole piece. The author quite nicely lays out the basic argument in rebuttal to people who use the argument against atheism by using the strawmen Hitler and Stalin. I've commented on these arguments before but since I keep seeing the same tired attempts posted over and over it seems that they need rebutting repeatedly.

POPSObama On Rosenberg’s WGN Talk Radio: Ayers is Off-Limits! Callers demanded to know why Rosenberg was “giving air time” to Kurtz to “slander” the Democrats’ presidential nominee. Rosenberg stood firm on his decision to have Kurtz on his show and insisted his staff tried getting someone from the Obama campaign to come on to refute Kurtz to no avail. Obama callers were not satisfied with Rosenberg’s explanation and continued demanding answers from the host while excoriating Kurtz . Obama Campaign HQ are .25 mile from WGN radio station.

POPSThe Nature of Science and Scientific Theories People have several ways that they know about their world. The chart below lists some of the ways of knowing. One way of knowing is no more valid that another to most people. However, as you read the chart please note that science is a way of knowing that requires the use of certain rules and methods that differs from the other means of knowing. Scientific knowledge limited to the natural world. Scientific knowledge and religious knowledge do not have to be contradictory. It is important to know these differences, so that they can be complementary.

POPSShort Cuts 07-29 “Next month, the Democratic presidential candidates... will participate in the first ever debate focused entirely on gay issues. Yeah, apparently in the gay debate when one candidate disagrees with another, they’ll be required to begin their rebuttal with ‘Girlfriend, please!”’ —Conan O’Brien

POPSHouse Democrats push Bush on Subpoenas The White House said executive privilege meant those who were charged with withholding documents from a congressional hearing-Contempt of Congress, were immune from prosecution. Of course they were only the messengers.

POPSHarm in reading romance novels? -AJC, Jun 2007 See the AJC for rebuttal & great comments by romance authors. Clearly neither columnist knows anything about romance novels. Also, that book Feldhahn cites? The full title is Finding the Hero in Your Husband: Surrendering the Way God Intended http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1558749306?ie=UTF8&tag=readforplea-20&link_code=as3&camp=211189&creative=373489&creativeASIN=1558749306 I bet Feldhahn's a "surrendered wife". Creepy. http://www.equityfeminism.com/articles/2001/the-surrendered-wife-phenomena/

POPSLose Weight - Smoke Cigars! A novel approach to lose some pounds. The rebuttal from the Dr. was that it's the nicotine that acts as a stimulant, and that it's not healthy. Obviously he never smoked cigars or he'd realize the nicotine level is incredibly low in most cigars. Cigars also help someone relax and reduce stress. Like anything, moderation is key. Hey, if it helps to get someone morbidly overweight to eat better, exercise and shed some pounds, it's a good thing.

POPSCutting Through Bush Propaganda Video clips don't seem to get as much attention as text clips, so I have made a text-clip of my own video clip to call attention to a great piece of news commentary by Keith Olbermann. In my opinion every American concerned about the loss of our brave sons and daughters in this war needs to view this video to really have a clear picture of what our sad and delusional Commander In Chief has brought us to.

POPSDinosaur Media March Deeper Into The Tar Pit Barry O is on his preemptive victory lap around the world and he steadfastly refuses to take questions from the foreign press. I wonder why? it's not like he isn't great reading off a prompter ?off the cuff?answering tough questions right? What would our media say if it was the Maverick dodging tough questions? I kinda doubt they would let it slide, but the Obama slinks along unmolested by any serious scrutiny from our self-selected watchdogs of the Fourth Estate. It is refreshing as a member of the newest type of new media to know that every day the solons of the liberal e-light who make up the dinosaur media march ever deeper into the tar pit.

POPSSurgery in Space! This is wild! I wonder which operations would be best-suited for weightless conditions. Guess we'll have to wait and see. :)
