The passing of the Christian Right
    wiccantexan
    by wiccantexan  1-1-2008
"Indeed, as President Bush's political star has waned, the Religious Right's legacy and its ability to positively impact the nation are increasingly being called into question. Critics contend that the evangelical movement has been largely reduced to political impotence and moral irrelevance."

Child Abuse - Dying for Religion
    AtlLiberal
    by AtlLiberal  11-30-2007    55
The boy's aunt, a Jehovah's Witness, needs to be changed with murder. She killed him with her religious myths as certainly as if she had stabbed him with a knife. Religion kills.

For all the Liberals out there who have fallen in love with Mr. Paul, I suggest they take another look at the real Ron Paul. Sure he's against the war in Iraq but that's not his entire agenda. This quy is more of a nut than most think.

Oh no! You mean we'd have to hire gays? And we wouldn't be able to assume they are gay and refuse to hire them?! Oh, my first amendment rights!

    One universe, under God

It's still so hard for me to believe that there are science teachers whose brains are so blown by the complexity of nature that they automatically ascribe it to God. It's completely illogical. And it's certainly not appropriate for this science teacher to divide scientists from religious people. They're not mutually exclusive, and putting it in terms of a choice for students strips them of the ability to look at it from a broader perspective. It's like a multiple choice test versus an essay assignment. Which encourages free thinking? The latter, of course. But do read the whole article. It's quite interesting.
