POPSAn Example of Incredible Mistrust Just because creationists need to misrepresent to get people to accept their opinion, doesn't mean scientists need to. When will they get that science is not a religion?

POPSCan Scientists Be Faithful? As someone who's both scientifically- and spiritually-minded, I know the answer to this question. And in fact I found most of this article boring, except for these parts I clipped.

POPSAtheists are non-existent! This blog, whose link was posted in a pro-Huckabee comment on a Christian Post article, is so full of misinformation and illogical rambling, I'm not sure if it's more sad or funny.

POPSChild Abuse - Dying for Religion The boy's aunt, a Jehovah's Witness, needs to be changed with murder. She killed him with her religious myths as certainly as if she had stabbed him with a knife. Religion kills.

POPSChristmas or Xmas? I've noticed that a lot of Christians really have a problem with using the abbreviated for of Christmas (Xmas). I questioned it myself until I found the above information.

POPSCreationism, the New Virus of Education Look for new lies from Creationism/ID as it adapts to criticism and unveiling of its distortions and frauds. Make no mistake, these people at the Discovery Institute are ruthless in their quest to insinuate religion into the curriculum. They will use any method to accomplish this goal. These are not simply people gathered together to "give another perspective". They are organized to force their agenda to teach religious myths to our children. The last sentence of the clip is chilling considering High Priest Bush has used the same language. No one considers Bush to be versed in science, given his record. The dangerous part is that he does hold the power to cause real harm to education and that is a problem that will last long past his failed administration.

POPSReligionists Rely on Faulty Logic and Lies This propaganda from the NCR is a prime example of religion's use of misdirection coupled with failed logic to try to prove to their "customers" that their spiel is legitimate. It has worked for roughly 2,000 years so they stick with the old methods because they are successful. One difference today is that we no longer have to accept this ruse as being grounded in reality but see it for what it is. A naked attempt to dupe a gullible populace that is willing to be lulled into a false sense of childish dependency. The entire screed is brought to you because the NCR feels threatened by a movie! Two thousand years of history and they become unhinged because another piece of fiction challenges their piece of fiction. Of course the stakes are big. Make no mistake, the Church is big business and wants to protect its assets.

POPSPoor Christians - Thrown to the Lions Again For all the Liberals out there who have fallen in love with Mr. Paul, I suggest they take another look at the real Ron Paul. Sure he's against the war in Iraq but that's not his entire agenda. This quy is more of a nut than most think.

POPSTaking Bible Stories Literally Suggested Bible stories for the next Barna survey I wonder what the result would be if the Bible stories were selected at random. What would happen, for example, if the following six stories were selected? God kills every Egyptian firstborn baby. Exodus 12:29-30 God sends fiery serpents to bite and kill his people (for complaining). Numbers 21:5-6 Moses commands his soldiers to kill every boy, woman, and female child (except for the virgins). Numbers 31:14-18 God orders the Israelites to kill every Amalekite man, woman, and child. 1 Samuel 15:2-3 David buys a wife with 200 Philistine foreskins. 1 Samuel 18:25-27 God kills husband and wife for not giving all their money to Peter. Acts 5:1-10 Would people believe in the literal truth of these stories? Would they still "believe that their personal trust" in the biblical God was "warranted" by them? Barna should do a survey to find out. (I'll bet the believers would drop from two thirds to two p

POPSChristian Double Standard True to form, Christians seem to be all in favor of religious non-discrimination as long as it's non-discrimination towards Christians only.

POPSStupid Christians Navigate to the website and watch the video if you've got the stomach for it. I found it to be revolting. If this isn't child abuse, I don't know what is. How could rational people be so ignorant? Religion is how!

POPSOne universe, under God It's still so hard for me to believe that there are science teachers whose brains are so blown by the complexity of nature that they automatically ascribe it to God. It's completely illogical. And it's certainly not appropriate for this science teacher to divide scientists from religious people. They're not mutually exclusive, and putting it in terms of a choice for students strips them of the ability to look at it from a broader perspective. It's like a multiple choice test versus an essay assignment. Which encourages free thinking? The latter, of course. But do read the whole article. It's quite interesting.
