About me
I love connecting with people and having great conversations. I'm pretty romantic and also neurotic. I'm a good listener and I've been told I'm good at understanding people and showing them their virtues and good qualities. My passions are watching stories (movies, TV shows, plays), reading, writing, and exploring...books, forests, shopping malls, anything. I am a spiritual eclectic and a humanitarian and feminist, and am fascinated by people and cultures. I support equal rights and humanitarian and environmental causes. I am a skeptic but always willing to have an open mind. I love performing — dancing, acting, and singing. I deeply value my connections to other human beings.

I am double majoring in anthropology and theatre arts at Valdosta State University. I am convinced that anthropology can give anyone a fresh and empowering perspective on life. My dream is to direct films, drawing from my theatre experience and appreciation of theatrical traditions, with a powerful social and philosophical message, like Steven Spielberg, Christopher Nolan, and Alfonso Cuarón do. I love to write and have composed several dozen poems, a number of essays, and currently have about six short stories in the works. I also have been developing some ideas for novels, stage plays, and screenplays, and have parts of them written. My biggest writing project is an examination of the mythology, culture, and philosophy explored through Joss Whedon's excellent shows "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and "A

3 Myths About Offshore Drilling
seaj11
by seaj11  7-15-2008
"Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) claimed "not a drop of oil was spilled during Katrina or Rita." This myth has been told again and again by the likes ofGov. Bobby Jindal (R-LA), Interior Secretary Dirk Kempthorne, Mike Huckabee, George Will, and Bill O'Reilly. There were, in fact, major onshore and offshore spills due to the hurricanes."

"In a separate study, the researchers tested blood triglyceride levels after people consumed a meal with 25% of the calories from HFCS, sucrose, fructose or glucose. All sugars except for glucose caused elevated levels 24 hours after the meal." from ScienceBlogs 6/11: Artificial Sweeteners Sodas sweetened with artificial sweeteners have long been the go-to drink for dieters looking to cut back on calories, but a new study from Purdue psychologists suggests that high consumption of such beverages is linked to obesity. Rats fed a sugar substitute gained significantly more weight during the course of the study than those fed regular glucose.
