POPSThe Gratitude Campaign I feel that this is a great way to show thanks and appreciation. I am deffinitely not a champion of this devestating unneccessary war, but these guys and girls are stuck in the middle of it all, and need to understand that we understand, and appreciated what they are going through. This video is only a few minutes long, and there is another shorter version at the youtube website. It would be a good thing if this got passed around, and all of us civilians were prepared for the inevitable time when the troops come marching home. On a personal note, thanks to Don for passing this on to me, and I will do my best to pass it on to others.

POPS'Bush Is Too Horrendous to Be Forgotten' SPIEGEL talks to American author Philip Roth about growing old, why George W. Bush is the worst American president ever and why he never gives out his cell phone number. Philip Roth, who will be 75 in March, is one of America's most critically acclaimed living writers. His 1969 novel "Portnoy's Complaint" brought him fame, and he went on to win a Pulitzer Prize for 1997's "American Pastoral."

POPSAmerica's Armageddonites Push for More War
THIS IS REAL FOLKS! THESE PEOPLE ARE REALLY OUT THERE! HAPPY HALLOWEEN! Based on this Biblical interpretation, the Armageddonites vehemently argue that America must protect Israel and encourage its settlements on the West Bank in order to help God fulfill His plans. The return of Jews to Palestine is central to the prophetic vision of the Armageddonites, who see it as a critical step toward the final battle, Armageddon, and the victory of the righteous over Satan's minions. There are a couple internal inconsistencies with this prophecy, such as the presence of Christians already living in the Holy Land and the role of Jews in the final dispensation. In the first case, Jerry Falwell, Pat Robertson, and other Religious Right leaders tried to pretend that Christians already in the Holy Land simply didn't exist. As for Jews, they needed to become "born again" Christians to avoid God's wrath (or, according to some Armageddonites, a separate Jewish covenant with God will gain them a se

POPSA War Best Served Cold The essence of this discussion is the proper use of diplomacy, and intelligent strategy. Staying by our principles and not adding to the ranks of our enemy is a pretty good idea. Butter not bombs's sometimes a smart way to fight the fight.

POPSHow to beat Iraq's insurgents? Ask the British. More: Bound by intense regimental loyalties, they've seemed steadier, more experienced, and more approachable than their US counterparts. Whenever possible, they've dispensed with their Warrior armored vehicles and traveled light and on foot. US troops, by contrast, can appear sinister in helmets, dark glasses, and body armor. Forever watching their backs, they can often seem brash and trigger-happy. Indeed, in their Humvees, Bradleys, and Strykers, guns trained on likely targets, they've become the occupying army they desperately didn't want to be. While the British focus on winning Iraqi hearts and minds, US troops, imbued with a fierce warrior ethic, have been more reluctant to take up the task.

POPSAbraham Lincoln...February 15, 1848 Seems like, as this great nation ages, we get dumber and dumber. Is it because we are getting further and further away from the days of oppression from those "Kings" that Abe is talking about in this letter to his law partner.

POPSA truly global solidarity against extremism and terrorism. The War on Terror could have been much more effective without using 9/11 as a political pawn, and with an intelligent approach to a very complicated problem......."bring-em-on", was not very intelligent.....although it may have been "politically expedient" in winning an election or two.... Shame on you Bush!

POPSAl Qaeda Resurgent Is this how you should fight a war on "Terrorism" ?? ======================================================= "Having failed to finish off Al Qaeda in Afghanistan, Washington now finds itself fighting Qaeda-affiliated groups on multiple fronts, most recently in Somalia. Al Qaeda’s comeback in Pakistan is a devastating indictment of Mr. Bush’s grievously flawed strategies and misplaced Iraq obsession. Unless the president changes course, the dangers to America and its friends will continue to multiply." =======================================================

POPSCheney very upset! Remember the Bush statement to the press at the beginning of all this.....that anyone connected with this leak would have to answer to him. As usual, his gunslinger talk is "all hat and no cattle"!

POPSRepublicans must be more like Ike I was around, but at a young age, when the "I like Ike" buttons could be seen on peoples shirts and coats. He definitely had an understanding of war that has completely eluded this gang of chickenhawks!

POPSMeet The Press...a love affair to remember! What is so aggravating about the constant noise about the "Liberal Press", is that this administration has gotten its way with the press and it certainly has not been a "liberal" love affair. The press and media should have been doing its job instead of pandering to this administration. If it has done its job (ie Watergate), then we might not right now be trying to figure out how the hell to get out of Iraq, and stop the maiming and killing of our sons and daughters ,not to mention all the Iraqi civilians...and their sons and daughters. This mess has been a "pipe dream" of a few old neo-conservative men who basically wanted to relive Vietnam, and force a different outcome. Google Neoconservative, Google PNAC (Project For The New American Century} , and then think about whether or not this war was a war of choice and the same old story about old men, and war.
