POPSStephen Ashbrook: Carelessly Stephen Ashbrook emerged on the Tempe, Arizona music scene in the mid-1990s while performing with his band Satelite. He later moved on to Portland where he distinguished himself with a unique blend of pop, rock, country, and folk. The guy is good. Real good. Here's one of my favorite ttracks, from Ashbrook's White Baloons album, Carelessly.

POPSSXSW Announces Musical Showcase SXSW has announced their Music Festival Showcases. I'll be at the Auditorum Shores for most of my trip...catching acts like Jambo, Biscuit Brothers, and Explosions in the Sky...but I'm hoping to make it to a few of my favorites as well.

POPSTwo Gallants Two Gallants, one of my favorite duos out of San Francisco, is featured on the They Shoot Music Series with a great rendition of "Despite What You've Been Told." It is, in my opinion, a great Monday morning tune...which makes it perfect of course for Music Mondays. Enjoy:

POPSMusic Monday: Randall Kimball A track from Randall Kimball. Randall attended Berkley, and spent a lot of time at the Keystone Tavern listening to greats like John Lee Hooker, Jerry Garcia, and the Greg Kihn Band. He's definitely taken on some of these influences while also bringing in some of his Indian vibes.
