POPSMcCain backs gun decision, Obama straddles issue Since Obama is a constitutional lawyer by trade you have to think what his motive for playing the field with this one. He of all people should not only understand where the Con. stands on this, but also the reasons why the right to bear arms is even in it. Any argument that says he's just courting the conservatives doesn't hold any water. We have the right to bear arms specifically in the case that our government is usurped from us and we have to retaliate. The would never be any greater or more noble a reason than this. Any person who both says that we should trust him with the FISA compromise as well as consider the government's right to take our arms away smells like the enemy to me. I am not a gun owner myself but appreciate the reasoning this is in the Con. Obama is starting to scare me, he may be charming but his words belie a very disconcerting position on the role of government and seem fascist to me.

POPSObama Vows to Continue Bush's Assault on the Constitution! I am speechless. I was going to vote for Obama until I learned this. I simply can not vote for anyone who sells out our constitutional rights. I feel a little crushed right now (only a little, I am primarily an anarchist). I just wanted an eloquent, seemingly humanist, president for a change. but now I see my old belief still holds true; Obama is just another head of the same beast, all be it more literate and better dressed. This is beyond the pale! I guess I needed this to wake me from my romanticized stupor. I was swayed by his charisma but now see his true colors and they are not red, white and blue. The linked article summed it up best: "as a Constitutional Law Professor, he knows full well what a radical perversion of our Constitution this bill is, and yet he's supporting it anyway. Anyone who sugarcoats or justifies that is doing a real disservice to their claimed political values and to the truth. "

POPSScalia’s Claim That Released Gitmo Prisoners Have Killed Americans Is An ‘Urban Legend’ All you have to do in America is tell people a lie, let it sink in and then apologize later. So many people will continue to believe and spread the lie that the damage has already been done and no amount of apologizing will undo it. This is why many still believe Saddam had anything to do with 9/11, why so many middle-Americans still believe Obama is a Muslim; the list could go on and on. This particular lie serves the purpose of adding weight to the habeas corpus arguments raging in congress (did I say arguments, I meant lip service). The more people that believe the lie, the easier it is to steamroll over the constitution. As a bright young man named Chuck D once said "Don't believe the hype!"

POPSObama: I'll Fight To Strip Telecom Immunity From FISA It seems absolutely ridiculous that in this day and age we have the two candidates we have in this election. On one side is a man who knows the value of the constitution and i willing to defend it while on the other is a man who will follow in the footsteps of the President who has been actively dismantling it. How can such an argument even exist? It should almost be a no-contest vote.

POPSAngry Clinton Supporters Start Rallying for McCain Online This proves that American democracy has failed in my mind. This is infantallism. To decide to switch sides just because you didn't get your favorite delegate?! It boggles the mind. These people are acting emotionally and not reasonably, just like toddlers on a play ground. Can we move them aside and let the adults vote now?

POPSObama Responds To McCain: "Strong" Presidents Aren't Afraid To Meet With Enemies I am more convinced every day that Obama is the most eloquent and relevant speaker of my lifetime. It's almost overwhelming that a man of such intelligence could possibly be running for president. I've grown so used to the dumbing down of elections that I feel ashamed. Obama is making me feel something in my country that I have never felt before, true pride.
