POPSGoogle released new version of Picasa with Web album and geotagging Google released new version (Beta) of Picasa to manage desktop pics, and features like upload to web album, share and geotag on Google Earth. Honestly,I start feeling uncomfortable with Google pushing so many new services, not compatible with what we already have and use. Flickr is very popular, so many pictures are geotagged there, why would I drop it and start uploading to Google? Would it not be great if the two services are integrated, but of course they compete (Goolge & Yahoo), so do we as users gain or lose? I used 30box as calendar, I enjoyed it, Google published their calendar, it looked promising, so I moved, and it seems they published the service just to stop all competitors. Starting to sounds like our good friend Microsoft

POPSGoogle earth beta version Google earth released beta version, will look at it later today, but I think its amazing they see important feature as the need to simplify UI. No doubt its key feature for every new app. I see myself as geek but ever application which require me to think, how to operate it, rather than do it intuitively, I will drop quickly, and other users less experienced will get frustrated, I see my wife daily struggling with simple feature. You want your application to be successful? Make it simple, real simple, few features available of basic screens, not like MS, where even I use like 2% of what available on office or outlook.

POPSWhat happened to Google calendar Does anyone use Google calendar and enjoy it? I was waiting for long time and was quite excited when it was released (of course as beta), but I was waiting for additional features to follow, mainly good todo and sync with Outlook, and nothing. I used before Airsoft, which synchronized fine with Outlook, using client on PC, so I guess its not that complicated, but I do not see Google or any developers publishing such tools, and I do not see real new features released, so was it born too early, to kick the potential competitors?

POPSGoogle new desktop search As anyone else I enjoy Google features, and the revolution it brought to the way we use Internet, but from the other hand, its starting to be scary having so much information in the hands of commercial ccompany, I am sure Google intentions are good, but there are bad people out there, also possible among Google itself. At least I will skip the new tool.

POPSGoog search music service Not sure which way Google is leading us, it should be good in any case. Imagine how it was few years ago before we could search in so many places so quickly, so we even do not bother bookmaking what we find any more. Google indeed is revolutionary, mostly in challenging MS, which proves that you can be revolutionary only when you are seeking the rule, but not when you are ruling, and most of your efforts are for maximizing your profit. MS approach is like giving drugs for free, and now trying to make you pay for every tiny service, and that is why Google is so attractive. I find more and more tools that I used freely on the Internet like Direcx for my daughter's game, require now genuine Windows. I know I am not supposed to use copied Windows, but that is how MS gained control and it was good at the time, now if Google had not arrive, we would find ourselves paying for more and more services, which we can and should get for free for Internet to flourish.
