Check for responsiveness by patting the chest or shoulders; perform rescue efforts for 1 to 2 minutes before calling 9-1-1; continue performing rescue efforts, checking for pulse every minute.
3 fingers on the chest with top finger in line between the nipples; raise top finger, compress 1/3 to 1/2 inch 5 cycles of 30 compressions & 2 breaths before checking for breathing & pulse.
