POPSWhat are two Russian subs doing off the US coast? Maybe they are going to offer rides on the subs for a small fee. Hopefully it will be cheaper than the $25 million to go to the space station. I suppose anyone wanting to take a ride will have to boat out 200 miles to their position, since it does not sound like they can drive in to pick ya up. Suppose it is a good way to raise some funding during economic crisis, just offer sub rides. Anyone have a boat and want to go out? ;-)

POPSSummit may unlock Russia trade: U.S. business leader Let's hope Obama and Medvedev can agree and turn things to a positive. This old cold war shit that Washington and Moscow have been holding onto is stupid, over, and time to move on. The new generations don't want to butt-heads, but grow the cultures and bring together two great countries. So much potential for positiveness with bright minds and talen in both countries, imagine what a better world it would be.

POPSTunguska was UFO & Meterorite? I knew Tunguska was more than they let it on to be :-) If you want to read an excellent thriller on Tunguska see a friend of mine's book http://singularitythebook.com/thebooks/singularity/ Bill's spin on the event is more interesting.....

POPSRAND Lobbies Pentagon: Start War To Save U.S. Economy If this were true I would say our gov't is full of more Fracking idiots then I originally thought. I would not put past any think tank though - hell Cheney's old company made a shit load by doing that in 2001. Hopefully the next administration is more focused on world peace and diplomacy rather than blowing things up.

POPSBiden to Supporters: "Gird Your Loins", For the Next President "It's Like Cleaning Augean Stables" I would agree. I would guess whether Obama or McCain is in office there has already been ample planning of the national level. I would say the line-up looks like this: 1. Iran due to Israel 2. Russia 3. Syria 4. Yemen 5. China due to Taiwan Not in that order, but those all are potentials. I would rather Obama be in office to handle diplomatically rather then McCain who would be looking to send more troops into battle or possibly worse.

POPSUkraine Market Crashes With all the stocks markets around the world taking a hit, it does seem like Babel is falling, or course that could just be GW's babble.

POPSBuffett Buys Goldman Stake in `Economic Pearl Harbor' The one nice thing about capitalism is that it cannot fail, it may take punches and get beat up, but it always rebounds. Granted we, little people get stuck wiping up the dirt, while the ultra rich (excluding Buffet) continue to live pampered lives. Russia and other countries however will have a rockier road with their markets collapsing. Least so it appears.

POPSAbkhazia, Ossetia and Iran – Risks of Spreading Conflicts What is puzzling after reading all the press on Ossetia and the US involvement is why does the US really have interest. Thinking more and doing some Google Earth it seems that Georgia area has great position in terms of range to Iran. So what if the US an ally worked out a deal to use that as a launching point on Iran? Might that not piss off Putin and Russia who has publicly acknowledge providing nuclear power guidance, etc. So with that in mind, Putin/Medeved could easily say - get out of our region. Not sure what is more scary - the idea that the US/allies might have been planning to attack Iran or the fact Putin and crew are willing to possibly defend Iran.

POPSMissile defense backers now citing Russia threat It is amazing - even on his way out of office Bush will continue to screw up US international relations. I think Madonna's video should have used Bush instead of McCain though both seem set on world domination. "Stupid is as stupid does" I suppose can summarize Bush's time in the White House.
