POPSAs a CIA spy, I saw in Iran what the West cannot ignore While the current Iranian president and his followers need to be removed and the people given freedom, I don't think the US making a move on its own can or should happen. First we are already stretched too thin on the military side of things. Economically we cannot afford to this. Politically, it has to be a total buy in for other major players (this probably won't happen). The current president is a sociopath and I feel terrible for those Iranians that have attempted to stand up for their freedom and for those that lost their lives doing so. The guy and his followers are nuts and dangerous to their own people and to the world.

POPSReport: IDF and Iran already Engaged in 'Cyber War' Well if this is true, then it will be a fast paced escalation into other war types. I wonder with all the cyber battles happening around the world, when we will begin to see Cyber Mercenery's begin to offer their services to countries. I suppose the benefit of cyber war for a mercenery is that while they might get zapped online, they don't have the worry of physical damage or death. Could possibly be a very lucrative business in the future for really good hackers looking to be cyber mercenerys or cladestine cyber operatives ;-)

POPSIran ex-monarch's son urges Israel to back rioters Some sound advice, as long as Israel is invited by the groups trying to overthrow the current dictatorship in Iran. Israel also needs to get in and get back out, otherwise trouble would arise. I really feel for the people of Iran. Good people being surpressed, controlled, and even killed by an Evil Government. The government wants to speak for the people, the people want to speak for themselves.

POPSIranian authorities scramble to negate Neda Soltan 'martyrdom' The world really needs to extend a hand to help these people. Let's NOT let this get to the point of all these government executions evolving to genocide, before the international community steps in and tells this dictatorship to cease attacking its own people. Action is needed now, not just from the US, but all the international powers.

POPSBiden to Supporters: "Gird Your Loins", For the Next President "It's Like Cleaning Augean Stables" I would agree. I would guess whether Obama or McCain is in office there has already been ample planning of the national level. I would say the line-up looks like this: 1. Iran due to Israel 2. Russia 3. Syria 4. Yemen 5. China due to Taiwan Not in that order, but those all are potentials. I would rather Obama be in office to handle diplomatically rather then McCain who would be looking to send more troops into battle or possibly worse.

POPSAbkhazia, Ossetia and Iran – Risks of Spreading Conflicts What is puzzling after reading all the press on Ossetia and the US involvement is why does the US really have interest. Thinking more and doing some Google Earth it seems that Georgia area has great position in terms of range to Iran. So what if the US an ally worked out a deal to use that as a launching point on Iran? Might that not piss off Putin and Russia who has publicly acknowledge providing nuclear power guidance, etc. So with that in mind, Putin/Medeved could easily say - get out of our region. Not sure what is more scary - the idea that the US/allies might have been planning to attack Iran or the fact Putin and crew are willing to possibly defend Iran.

POPSMissile defense backers now citing Russia threat It is amazing - even on his way out of office Bush will continue to screw up US international relations. I think Madonna's video should have used Bush instead of McCain though both seem set on world domination. "Stupid is as stupid does" I suppose can summarize Bush's time in the White House.

POPSFallon 'may lose job over Iran war' Fallon is one guy I have the highest respect and admiration. Unfortunately his boss(Bush) is a total dumb ass. So if the smart guy is fired, where does it leave the dumb ass if he still acts foolish to go to war with Iran? I will bet $10 this will be the Bush/Cheney tactic to remain in office.

POPSSenator Feingold’s opening statement "These are direct quotes from the Constitution of the United States. Yet to hear some in the Administration talk, it is as if these provisions were written in invisible ink."

POPS Senators to Bush: Stay out of Iran They need to remove and replace the whole Bush administration NOW, before King Bush gets more of our military killed and leads us further into WW3. These Senators have given too much to Bush already -- REMOVE his Power!

POPSIran President Says Country Does Not Need Nuclear Bomb I would agree with him that nuclear weapons are archiac. There are much cheaper, quicker and more painful ways to cause destruction (aka: bio-chem). Perhaps he is correct and they are just using it to make energy? Perhaps I will hit the lottery this weekend as well (btw: I never play).
