POPS Mandatory flu vaccination splits Healthcare workers

If I were in their position I too would be outraged. Half of the Doctors I have talked too are not even recommending for their patients and certainly our pediatricians are saying not to get the H1N1 for our kids, which we had not planned to do anyway. If I was these doctors and nurses I would just not get it as the state is just asking for a huge shortage of nurses and docs by doing this. Society needs the nurses and docs, they don't necessarily need to stay at these jobs.

Really tough to tell if this is all just hype to get people to buy into the vaccines or if it could truly be a real pandemic. Personally I am against the vaccines, especially for my kids, who would need like 4 flu shots. Yea - good luck in anyone getting 4 flu shots into them.

While I think everyone deserves to have healthcare, the approach that is being used here scares me in that we will lose our best doctors and we will see a decline in the quality of care. Think about it, why would someone spend 8+ years of their life studying medicine if they cannot set their own prices and not be locked into a "pay-grade". I do think Health Insurance companies need to be cut out as the middleman between doctors and patient, since Insurance companies screw over both doctors and patients, the same way Record labels screw over the artists. But perhaps government should look at a tiering system in terms of their insurance compensation, based on doctors level of skill, success levels, etc. Not really sure of the answer, but the approach mentioned in this article is a bit scary to me.

Everyone should have health care and I agree with these folks that if insurance companies can't do it, then let them close down. I however find it hard to believe that they can't compete with Government, since government usually has much overhead in implementing an maintaining. The way this will be lousy is if they increase our taxes to cover the losses government incurs, in which case we need to devise a different system. No matter the solution, the case is everyone needs healthcare.

Considering we are spending $1 billion a day in Iraq and how many billions more to make more weapons, why not take that money and cover everyone with health insurance for the next 10-15 years? Seems mankind likes to spend money destroying things rather then saving them.
