POPSTo Standardise Lesson Plans or Not? In China for most of its" modern" history (that is after 1949) a national standardised lesson plans has always been the only way to go,but as of now a similar reformation is being carried out to make lesson plans more flexible and localised with less control directly from the centre department. seems China and the U.S. are interestingly going in opposite directions,I just hope they find the balance and don't go too far.

POPSManchus go online I am actually half Manchu, and though happy as I am to see such a wonderful website put on,the slightly sad fact is that now I--like many I suppose--have obviously lost this identity, and don't have a strong sense about things like "Manchu Nationality".

POPSChina promises non-smoking Olympics Good thing indeed,I just hope they don't do it like how they deal with violation to the traffic law:Exposing the violators on TV un-censored (shame on both),heavy fine etc. It's really more about changing people's mind than action.
