POPSPalin and Her Followers are frightening I think that says that you abused your power, if I read correctly. This kind of parsing of words is disingenuous in the extreme. It is also either arrogant or stupid to suggest someone read the report knowing they will find Finding Number One. It is hard to believe that John McCain can be trusted with anything if he is suggesting that we should trust Sarah Palin. Someone who abuses her power by using it to further her personal ends in the context of her sister’s nasty divorce, and sees nothing wrong with it, frightens me. Its like the Mafia, don’t cross a family member, your livelihood and your reputation could be in danger. But then, this is what frightened me about the Bush/Cheney Texas Mafia, so I guess I’m just a weenie.

POPSGOOD News? BAD News! Don't count your Chickens!
Despite his vaunted "genius" for political skulduggery, in the end Rove too is a drab factotum, a bagman, a greasy cog in a vast machine that will keep grinding on, killing and corrupting, without him. (Assuming that Rove is actually stepping away from the machine, which is most unlikely.) Stories of far greater significance than the slinking exit of a dirt-smeared toady have appeared in the last two days -- items far more revelatory of the hellish world that the porcine minion has helped make on behalf of his masters. The boiling core of this hell is Iraq. Stories breaking while Rove and Bush were puddling up on the White House lawn revealed a new abyss of criminality in the war crime that the tearful tyrant and his henchman have engendered: the Mafia running guns to Bush's favored extremist factions in Iraq. As the Guardian reports, Italian anti-Mafia police, tracking down a drug deal, instead came across shipment of 105,000 AK-47s procured by the underworld for their paying clien

POPSKremlin Unleashes "Mafia-on-Steroids" Style Chechen Thugs ........continued........ to disband the unit. The generals refused. At the time, their stubborn support for the outlaw Yamadaev Brothers seemed baffling - a quiet Chechnya was a longstanding Russian goal. But last week, it all made sense: Putin's military, which had been planning the invasion of Georgia for many months, intended to unleash the worst criminals in uniform it had on the Georgian people. Why? Two reasons: First, Prime Minister Vladimir Putin wants the Georgians to suffer - to really suffer. And Chechens are the world's subject-matter experts in atrocities. Second, this gives the Russian army itself a veil of deniability: When Putin's spokesmen insist that the Russian military isn't involved in the worst savagery in Georgia, they're technically telling the truth (if we don't count air attacks and artillery bombardments), since the Chechen thugs on their payroll are on the job.

POPSWho In Their Right Mind?! Gaddafi's Oddest Idea: Abolish Switzerland Relations between Libya and Switzerland soured in July 2008 when Gaddafi's son Hannibal and his wife were arrested by police in Geneva for allegedly beating their two servants at a local hotel. Gaddafi was so enraged by his son's two-day detention, he immediately retaliated by shutting down local subsidiaries of Swiss companies Nestlé and ABB in Libya, arresting two Swiss businessmen for supposed visa irregularities, canceling most commercial flights between the two countries and withdrawing about $5 billion from his Swiss bank accounts. Then came Gaddafi's suggestion that Switzerland be carved up like a wheel of Swiss cheese. During the G-8 summit in Italy in July, Gaddafi said Switzerland "is a world mafia and not a state," adding that the Italian-speaking part of the country should be returned to Italy, the German-speaking part given to Germany and the French-speaking part ceded to France.

POPSYet another excuse to take our property While on the surface this looks great, it is yet one more law that is setting up innocent Americans, or for those that disagree, to take our property. First it was for drugs, (now even users), then for prostitution, then mafia, now "gang" and organizations like the KKK. Tomorrow it will be for anyone that "speaks out" against the government. I know, I know. If you are breaking any law, then you have nothing to worry about. I don't buy it. If the government has direct evidence that the money & property was purchased with criminal money, I would feel better. This law would let them take your mother's house. Our constitutional rights are gone. Long gone. Coming soon to a city near you, gulags and internment camps, along with government "retraining" centers to convince us that the government ALWAYS knows best. Yet, beyond a shadow of a doubt, the criminals will still be criminals.

POPSAnother Insightful Perspective By Bill Maher Bill Maher creates an interesting analogy between Bush's manipulation of the Iraq war and Ken Lay's similar tactics at Enron. My clips do not do the piece justice, and I urge all of you to read the entire commentary.

POPSRobert Fisk: Keeping out the cameras and reporters simply doesn't work
Now the Israeli army is trying the same doomed tactic again. Ban the press. Keep the cameras out. By yesterday morning, only hours after the Israeli army went clanking into Gaza to kill more Hamas members – and, of course, more civilians – Hamas was reporting the capture of two Israeli soldiers. Reporters on the ground could have sorted out the truth or the lie about that. But without a single Western journalist in Gaza, the Israelis were left to tell the world that they didn't know if the story was true. On the other hand, the Israelis are so ruthless that the reasons for the ban on journalism may be quite easily explained: that so many Israeli soldiers are going to kill so many innocents – more than three score by last night, and that's only the ones we know about – that images of the slaughter would be too much to tolerate. Not that the Palestinians have done much to help. The kidnapping by a Palestinian mafia family of the BBC's man in Gaza – finally released by Hamas, although

POPSThe Mafia, the CIA and Bush Sr. When you consider that Reagan was probably out of it from Day One of his term and that Bill Clinton is a close associate of George Bush Sr., the Bush crime syndicate has been influencing when not outright running the executive branch continuously since 1980, which, perhaps not so coincidentally, marks the earliest days of the credit bubble the economy is now having serious trouble digesting.

POPSRussia Conducts Cyber-Attack On Georgian Government Websites Last April the computer systems of the Estonian Government came under attack in a co-ordinated three-week assault widely credited to state-sponsored Russian hackers. The wave of attacks came after a row erupted over the removal of the Bronze Soldier Soviet war memorial in Tallinn, the Estonian capital. The websites of government departments, political parties, banks and newspapers were all targeted. Analysts have immediately accused the Russian Business Network (RBN), a network of criminal hackers with close links to the Russian mafia and government, of the Georgian attacks. Jart Armin, a researcher who runs a website tracking the activity of the RBN, has released data claiming to show that visits to Georgian sites had been re-routed through servers in Russia and Turkey, where the traffic was blocked. Armin said the servers "are well known to be under the control of RBN and influenced by the Russian Government."

POPSWH Threats to Chrysler Creditors Confirmed What keeps going through my mind at this point, though, is what will the bankruptcy judge do? Judge Arthur Gonzalez has 200 years of bankruptcy law precedent that he applies with every bankruptcy that comes before him. Will he follow the law this time, which says these secured creditors get paid first and in full or as much as they can be, or will he bow to the pressure from the White House? Can you imagine the firestorm if he actually upholds the law and tells Obambi to take a hike? He will get every leftist anal analyst in the country after him.

POPSJimmy Carter: Jew-Hater, Genocide-Enabler, Liar A bit harsh if you ask me, but there are some good facts in the article. Especially the part of how Israel was set up. Many seem to think the UN just took some land from the Arabs and moved a bunch of Jews there, but it just didn't happen quite like that.
