    Happy Birthday Aisha!

    by thisnamecantbetaken  11-1-2007    17
Cat lovers will understand this clip. I know, I know, I'm such a sappy cat Mum, but my sweet little cat Aisha is three years old today. She's a cat, I found in a rubbish bin in Greece when she was just a tiny kitten and we never thought she'd make it. She was SO sick (poisoned) but she pulled through and today she's three already!! Kids grow up so fast. Happy Birthday, little girl!. :)

'Eureka machine' works (it is not April 1st)
    balthazarus
    by balthazarus  4-3-2009    5
The Cornell machine uses a computer program that can search through huge amounts of data and look for underlying patterns. For example, a falling apple will abide by Newton's second law, which is often stated as F=ma, where F is the force acting on an object, m is its mass, and a is its acceleration. When fed information on the mass of the apple and its velocity as it falls, the machine would be able to work out the equation. Lipson tested the machine by giving it information from basic lab experiments, such as swinging pendulums and tiny cars that moved up and down tracks on a cushion of air. After crunching through the data, the machine pinged and displayed several laws of motion and conservation of momentum. The system runs its own checks to decide whether the laws it has found are likely to be interesting.

    Apple after Steve
    Mohir
    by Mohir  1-15-2009    1
     # MacBooks and iPods and iPhones aren’t going anywhere. Certainly Steve left his imprint on many things throughout the company, but his departure doesn’t mean that their current line of wildly successful products is going to simply disappear. # The Apple design aesthetic isn’t doled out in person by Steve, and Steve isn’t the only creative visionary at Cupertino. There are lots of bright, passionate, creative people at Apple. Sexy computers will still be made. A strong focus on quality user interfaces will still prevail. Competition doesn’t get a leg up as a result of this. Apple is still strongly in the #2 spot when it comes to computers, behind Microsoft but ahead of Linux. Apple will still maintain an enormous lead in the PMP market with iPods. And the iPhone is still a strong member of the smartphone triumvirate, along with Android and the soon-to-be-released Palm Pre. Apple can now focus on the cult of Apple, and not the cult of Steve.

    10 more must-try exotic fruits
    Aribeth
    by Aribeth  7-12-2009    5
Rose Apple, also known as Champoo is one of the most interesting exotic fruits on the planet, just for the fact that it smells and tastes a lot like roses. Unfortunately they are rarely found in markets around the world because they spoil very quickly after being picked. The bell-shaped fruits are crisp, crunchy and have a delicious fresh flavor. It can be eaten whole but as with apples, many people prefer to leave the core. Rose Apples are also boiled in hot water to make scented Rose Water.
