POPSEnraged McCain supporters harass early voters Fayetteville, NC: After an Obama rally, many (mostly black people) head to the polls for early voting, where they're berated by jeering (mostly white) McCain supporters. Sheriff refuses to intervene, observing he'd never seen Sunday voting. Surely this is in violation of federal election law regarding campaigning at polling places.

POPS NFL Broadcast Controversy Under Senate Scrutiny As it is right now, the biggest losers in this dispute are the NFL and its fans. While the league loses massive revenue, the fans, which are all too willing to provide it, are becoming more and more disgruntled. The NFL is not considering its fans here. They are obviously thinking of things from a strictly business standpoint. But what they seem to forget is that die-hard NFL fans are going to subscribe to their Network regardless of any minimal extra cost imposed by the cable companies. The League ought to at least consider getting their foot in the door. Who knows, in time, as the channel’s ratings grow (and that is sure to happen), it could possibly then be moved to a regular line-up much like the Outdoor Channel (broadcasted by Time Warner) was recently moved from the sports tier to the regular line-up.

POPS"That's Just Wrong" So, I was at a Little League baseball game today watching my son play. I was standing next to another father while the opposing team was warming up on the field. We were chatting away about our sons' team, the Yankees, the halcyon days of our own little league baseball youth, etc. when he turned to me and said "man, look at the other team's uniforms, they're wearing navy blue pants with light blue shirts - they look like freakin' pajamas! That's just wrong." I got a chuckle out of it for sure, because they did look like pajamas, but it made me recall some horrible uniforms from the 70's and eighties (below): the 1976 Chicago White Sox uniforms featuring shorts (they looked like a mens slow pitch softball team) and the NHL's Hartford Whalers and Philadelphia Flyers of the 80's who wore pants. Shorts on baseball players? Pants on Hockey players? Now That's just wrong. Who do you think has the worst uniforms in professional sports today?

POPSNew York Rangers Vs NHL Seems a little late in the game for the NHL to be bringing this issue up now. This reminds us yet again how Major League Baseball's online initiatives are light years ahead of what the other pro sports leagues are doing. - Louis Hau
