About me
My interest in events in Israel may be (deliberately) misread as anti Jewish. I like Jews quite a lot yet I'm proud to be anti-Zionist. I now like Jews less than previously as I believe all Jews are responsible for the atrocities commit by the Zionist against the Arabs. I believe that the most good Jews have a responsibility for change in Israel.

Why? Well even more than the withdrawal of American money, the withdrawal of American Jews support of the Zionists would have an immediate effect. I believe every human being has a duty of care to all humans whose equality is diminished.

By not admitting Jews pre-WW2, America contributed greatly to the holocaust with only the UK increasing numbers. The Zionist had the offer from the Nazis for the release of ALL Jews except to Palestine. The Zionist bear a huge responsibility for the subsequent deaths when they declined the offer for they knew the likely outcome.

Now the Arabs, that sinned the least, are suffering the most. America continues the 1948 mistake with its grossly uneven handling of the Middle East while conniving with imposed thieving false rulers to take the Arab oil.

JFK
This has never been a rich or powerful country, and yet, since earliest times, its influence on the world has been rich and powerful. No larger nation did more to keep Christianity and Western culture alive in their darkest centuries. No larger nation did more to spark the cause of independence in America, indeed, around the world. And no larger nation has ever provided the world with more literary and artistic genius.

This is an extraordinary country. George Bernard Shaw, speaking as an Irishman, summed up an approach to life: Other people, he said "see things and. . say Why?" . . . But I dream things that never were-- and I say: "Why not?"

It is that quality of the Irish--that remarkable combination of hope, confidence and imagination--that is needed more than ever today. The problems of the world cannot possibly be solved by sceptics or cynics, whose horizons are limited by the obvious realities. We need men who can dream of things that never were, and ask why not. It matters not how small a nation is that seeks world peace and freedom, for, to paraphrase a citizen of my country, "the humblest nation of all the world, when clad in the armour of a righteous cause, is stronger than all the hosts of Error."

Diplomat: Iran Not a Threat, U.S. is Playing Against Russia
blueridge
by blueridge  5-28-2009
This senior Russian official refutes the "Iran is a threat" rhetoric and says the U.S. is using the Iran issue for justification to expand military operations around Russia. (Methinks this is a secondary but true motive). The facts seem consistent with his assertion. The neocons had pushed reviving a Cold War with Russia (e.g. NATO missile placement agreements, Georgia-S. Ossettia conflict), which appears still in progress under Obama (despite Hillary pushing the "reset" button--stupid). A dangerous Iran-Russia alliance could be unintentionally forced as a consequence of the U.S.-Israeli propaganda and threats against Iran and maneuvering against Russia, which could set a scenario for major world or regional war, beyond just the middle east. This of course would be blamed on Iran and Russia instead of U.S. provocatory actions and policy.

The Israeli settlements are built on illegally occupied Palestinian land. Plain & simple. If it's illegal to start with, why should a settlement be allowed to grow naturally? The Occupied Territories are not part of Israel, they are conquered land. Palestinian land. And international law forbids military occupiers to colonize foreign territory. This the the basic fact that The Israel Lobby 's propaganda campaigns aims to obscure. This is what all those UN resolutions condemning Israel and their brutal Apartheid (the ones the US AUTOMATICALLY blocks) are about. The settlements, and the illegal colonists who live in them, have to go. And don't get started on the "This is the land God promised to us" bullshit. Go ask God for billions of dollars a year, not the American Taxpayer.

CATO--"Hate Crime" Laws Are Unconstitutional
blueridge
by blueridge  5-27-2009    2
"Hate crime" laws are "thought crime" laws, constitute "double jeopardy" (being tried twice for same crime), and violate the 1st and 14th (and also not mentioned, 10th) amendments of the Constitution, this scholar asserts. He also takes the ACLU to task since they ought to know better, and should lead the opposition. The ADL (hypocrites who defame many) is behind "hate crimes" legislation, and is the powerful, private, special interest, propaganda agency to federal and local law enforcement (including FBI) and media, who are the sole self-appointed definers of public orthodoxy and what constitutes "hate" or "hate groups", even "terrorism" watch lists! "Hate Crimes" laws could become the basis of a New American Inquisition , where a certain "orthodoxy" of thought, speech, religious or philosophical beliefs is upheld and requires punishment of all to the contrary. Think about the danger of this! What about "liberty of conscience" and freedom of speech?

Lehi’s brave members revealed their participation in the assassination in 1977 after the statue of limitations had expired.

Abbas has ruled out restarting those talks until Netanyahu, whose right-leaning government took office on March 31, commits to a two-state solution and halts settlement expansion. Netanyahu has so far balked at committing to entering negotiations with the Palestinians on territorial issues. A senior Israeli official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said Netanyahu's government hoped to sidestep U.S. pressure by committing to uproot smaller hilltop outposts built without official authorisation, a step also set by the road map. "Moving on outposts is relatively easy" compared to freezing growth of larger settlements, which Israel wants to keep as part of any future peace deal, the Israeli official said. Last week, Israel flattened a small outpost near the West Bank city of Ramallah, but residents returned to rebuild.

How MI5 Recruits Muslims: Blackmails as Terror Suspects to Employ
blueridge
by blueridge  5-21-2009
This is an interesting article in light of the New York "alleged terror plot" story, and shows how government agents coerce to recruit, as agents, double agents, or even patsies, by use of threats, as well as financial rewards, for their particular purposes. This in fact is how "terrorists" recruit, by threatening the peace and lives of others they want to use and employ for their missions! Using these men as patsies, after arming them, in "role play" scenarios, is how it becomes a "terror plot" headline later for media consumption. "When people are terrorised by the very same body that is meant to protect them, sowing fear, suspicion and division, we are on a slippery slope to an Orwellian society."

It is also the only detention facility that the state prevents the International Red Cross from visiting. Nor, as far as can be ascertained, have Knesset members ever visited the place, and many of the politicians who have been asked about it in the past few weeks said they had never heard of it - including some who have held senior positions in the government, such as Prof. David Libai, who was justice minister in the government of Yitzhak Rabin and a member of the ministerial committee that deals with the secret services: "I will not say a single word about the subject, for the simple reason that I am not familiar with it. This is the first time I have ever heard about such a thing." If a former justice minister doesn't know about it, a disturbing question arises: who does? Dan Meridor, another former justice minister and chairman of the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee, is aware of the facility's existence: "I'm not sure there's anything wrong here," he says. "There are loads of people with heart disease . They can't get here , they can't get to Israel. If it's this hard for us to get to, how difficult is it for the Palestinians to get out?" PIMA's director, Dr Ahmed Almari, said: "It's unbelievable. They're a group of doctors, they went for education and teaching, to set up a cardiac unit. It's unfair and sad that it is only as a result of a hunger strike that anybody pays attention. There's no reason to stop them from crossing."

Rumsfeld: Mixing God with Intelligence and Bush???!!!! OMG
ratcatcher2
by ratcatcher2  5-18-2009    2
One of the images was from March 31, 2003, showing a US tank roaring through the desert about 10 days after the US invaded Iraq to topple the regime of Saddam Hussein. Over the image was printed a verse from Ephesians: "Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand." The report by Robert Draper, who wrote a well-received book about Bush called "Dead Certain," also detailed the frustration and occasional fury of former officials who said Rumsfeld constantly undermined the president's goals. Draper said: "Rumsfeld impaired administration performance on a host of matters extending well beyond Iraq to impact America's relations with other nations, the safety of our troops, and the response to Hurricane Katrina."

Oh ah Cantona, the King, their player of the century. Now a film star
ratcatcher2
by ratcatcher2  5-18-2009    3
Cantona, a mercurial, brooding and inspired player during his years of glory in Manchester in the 1990s, reveals an unexpected comic touch as he takes occasional puffs on a joint and dispenses life advice to his namesake and fan Eric Bishop. Loach said Cantona, who co-produced the picture and has made a number of films since ending his playing career more than a decade ago, "acts like he plays football, with flair and creativity". The film plays with his image as an unpredictable genius given to gnomic pronouncements as he materialises in "Little Eric's" terraced house and sets about restoring the self-confidence of a man crippled by regrets about the past. "I am not a man, I am Cantona," he declares superbly at one point before taking out a trumpet and delivering an uncertain performance of "The Marseillaise".
