About me
I will be 44 this October, not that it bothers me, as time isn't linear and finite.

I suffer with spastic paraplegia which may have been triggered by some neurotoxins that I was exposed to in the 80's. (To long a story to tell here)

I love my husband, who is also my carer. We have three cats and a dog, who are my furry babies. I have a 24 year old daughter who was married last June (2006)

I believe in the Abrahamic Faiths, as I believe in G-d and our Saviour.

I have no prejudice, and you won't find me gossiping on the street about somebody's business, whether it is true or not. I hate gossiping, back-biting, and back-stabbing.

I live for a peaceful life and in unity with humanity. I feel that our bodies are just a physical manifestation of our true beings which are made up of love and light. Our bodies are just a vehicle in which to travel, and our souls the driver.
Why I use Clipmarks
Although my interest is in the paranormal; I find that there are so many interesting things happening in our world right from our desktop. If I see anything interesting that I think others would like to see, but unsure of the link, I post them.

Clipmarks is the best way to get in touch with the best sites and the best info online. It is much easier than sifting through a search engine, as the subject may have already been found by somebody else.

It is just really great to be able to share what you find online with others around the globe.

Internet Freedom May be Lost by 2012

This is scary, the governments now want to control our internet access. Shame on them for destroying our rights and using the internet to fill their coffers, so those of us who are poor and ill can't connect with the outside world, and even the able-bodied will notice it.

An Unusual House

by rachel43  3-15-2008
If it was here in the UK and I had the money, I would buy it in an instant, mind you, it would have to be adapted for my disability, but what a great place to live. I would live in a structure like this or one that goes back a couple of centuries old with spirited tenants. I like homes with spirits and unusual abodes. What about you?

I Remember What it is to be Homeless
rachel43
by rachel43  2-1-2008    1
When you are homeless, you don't exist. You fall through the web. People stare at you like you should not be alive. They treat you like you are not human. They think we want to be homeless. Although I am not homeless now and experienced it three times in my life, I know the pain and suffering. I was fortunate in that I had a child was put in a flat without furniture and slept under my coat, while my daughter slept under a blanket. We may as well have been on the street. This happened in America. I am one of the lucky ones; I am disabled now and am unable to help those left behind. What I can do is let people know that the homeless are real people too, just down on their luck, as most of you would say. Mine was running away from a spouse who abused me and my daughter. Surely, there are people in positions to help my brothers and sisters who are still homeless, as I am unable to at this point and time.

Nice to see Somebody has Some Sense in the Bin Laden Family
rachel43
by rachel43  1-21-2008
It is nice to see that somebody in the Bin Laden family knows that peace and not war is the way to defend Islam. Besides the Quran is the 'Book of Peace'. I will keep him in my prayers and pray that his efforts prove fruitful. At least, he doesn't take after his dad who prefers to kill then use peaceful methods. Omar should be praised for his efforts.

What is going on with the US and Canada over a stretch of water
rachel43
by rachel43  9-16-2007    1
What is Bush trying to do now? He is trying to stir up animosity with the US nearest neighbours over a stretch of water that they both could share? I don't know why they have to even debate the issue after all. What happened to their alliance? Wouldn't their alliance hold over this bit of water. I think it is daft that it is being turned into such an issue. If they are going to fall out over this stretch of water, then Bush will lose out on his plan for the super highway(which is a mistake anyway). Bush doesn't like compromises does he, unless it is his way. Sorry to be so bold, but I have noticed that when it comes to compromise in diplomacy that is an area he lacks in. Tact is another. Why doesn't he work out a joint agreement with Canada instead of toing and froing as to who the waterway belongs to. Surely Bush can find diplomacy in this matter instead of making this a bone of contention between the US and Canada, their nearest allies and neighbours.

A point of note: I am the Rachel that they speak of and my husband told me that the camera is one of 14 in the park. This is a brilliant programme with a wonderful husband and wife team of Kate and Richard Mucci. If you ever want to know the truth about what is going on then watch this space.

A Game with a Conscience
rachel43
by rachel43  6-25-2007
I for one don't like violence, or war games, or violent computer games. However, this game is different. It's 3d effects bring the realism of the horrors of war to life. It doesn't glorify war and violence, but shows the true brutality, unlike other computer games which make violence appear as fun. This shows the true price of violence and war. I, for one, would never entertain war games or violent games in my home if I had young children. If you read the article and look at the photos, the dynamics of the 3d make the characters more real. Personally, I would be glad to see the end of all violent computer games, but this one shows the honest brutality of war and doesn't glorify violence. The other thing is it shows the futility of war and that there are no winners.

Speaks For Itself
rachel43
by rachel43  6-19-2007
At least when Maggie Thatcher was in government, we had a democracy. Something that isn't present in today's Britain. Labour was set up for the people, by the people to represent the work force. Now it has become much more sinister and that concerns me. They are taking us from a democracy into a communistic state. I was born here and live here; and yet, I fear if this trend carries on what future is their for the following generations. What will Britain be like for them? Thank You Tony Blair for destroying our civil liberties. (tongue in cheek)

It is about time that somebody figured it out and developed a power station that utilizes the suns energy. It is about time that other nations take note and follow in the footsteps of Spain. They have set a precedence and if these governments who are in the Kyoto treaty need to get on the ball, or be left behind.

You Will love This Clip
rachel43
by rachel43  6-6-2007
Even if you believe in G-d, as Jehovah, you will see that He is truly known as Allah, as in the Qur'an. This song speaks of what is written in both the Holy Scriptures and in the Talmud of His love. If this piece of music doesn't make you realize that Jews, Christians, and Muslims worship the same G-d then you only have to study the scriptures of the Abrahamic Faiths, as I have to see it. This is truly an inspiration of G-d's love, regardless, if you are Jew, Christian, or Muslim.
