POPSPassed Green Jobs/ Green NY According to this the program is already in effect, but specific NYS communities have been selected for the funding through a "competitive solicitation process" and the funds should eventually trickle through local contractors, utilities, and community groups that partner w/ a rep sample of some poor people or that have an office in a poor neighborhood. ...I really shouldn't be so cynical, it is just so hard not to be when you can't afford a hot water heater.

POPSIntegrative Medicine Practice for Autoimmune Disorders in Buffalo This appears to be a comprehensive Integrative Medicine Practice for Autoimmune Disorders and Neurological Conditions in Buffalo, NY- definately seems like it could be worth checking out. Esp. take a look at massage therapy services, accupuncture, pt, and w/ a rheumatologist on staff! Way to treat the whole person!

POPSMarvelous Mulberry Tree Thinking about becoming the new Johnny Appleseed- Rachael Mulberribranch, or something. This awesome mulberry tree is growing from between the cracks of the sidewalk at the house next door to me in the ghetto. The negligent landlords have decided that people don't like trees, so they cut every tree down to a stump, every year. But, this mulberry tree had the most amazing fruit last year, attracted two kinds of humingbirds, and so many other species of birds rarely seen on the West side of Buffalo, NY. Maybe some cuttings planted in vacant lots will bring some life back to the hood.

POPSDrupal Training for Newbies What a great way to introduce community members to the power of content management systems like drupal. I think it would be great to bring a bunch of people together to sponsor one or two of these training sessions. Maybe I'll get around to creating an eCampaign to gather together the interested parties, lord knows that the nonprofits around here really need to get on the web2.0 bandwagon and interact and learn from their client-constituents! I'm sick of knowing more than the people in charge, but not having any way to communicate what I know, and be heard. That is all about to end- the real benefits of the internet are upon us.

POPSTrees to be Mulched Awesome move by the city of Buffalo! Too bad mulch won't be available to any city resident that want it. They should also give information about how much the city is reducing our carbon footprint by composting/ mulching trees. I hope that Lardon Construction is doing the service for free. If the city website had links to both Lardon and Grassroots gardens that would be super cool, but perhaps too much to hope for.
