POPSTracking the $700 Billion Bailout tonight I heard on Rachel Maddow that 335 of the 350 had been disbursed and it got me to thinking that I haven't really heard who got the money, where it went, what they did with it. I do recall reading about some recent shuffling going on though. Oh, and yeah I heard that one of the muckity mucks was on the news saying he deserves his 10 million bonus this year...what a turd...

POPSRed Carpet Rolled Out for the Poor Cooperating agencies, including the National Urban League and Washington's Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies, will help the foundation identify people to be invited and help them get to Washington. Stafford has said he also plans to reach out to homeless shelters, community organizations and military hospitals in search of guests. Stafford was asked whether Obama might attend the Marriott events. "That certainly would be icing on the cake," he said. Lavern Chatman, president of the Northern Virginia Urban League, said the idea was not to have all the Stafford guests be disadvantaged. Organizers also want some movers and shakers so the disadvantaged and well-heeled can mingle.

POPSFormer Canned Heat frontman Robert Lucas, R.I.P. Lucas hooked up with boogie-rock kings Canned Heat in 1994 as singer, guitarist and harp player, and would first appear on the band's 1996 Blues Band album, the last featuring founding member and guitarist Henry Vestine. Between 1994 and 2008, Lucas served two stints as the band's frontman, touring the world in front of the band and contributing songs, instrumentation and vocals to recordings like 1999's Boogie 2000 and the band's 2007 Christmas album. Taylor said of Lucas that "his unequaled fury and stage presence, together with his earth-shattering vocal delivery, gave him the ability to channel many of the blues masters through his words, songs and musical ability. Continuing, Taylor says, "He has been recognized by blues fans and critics worldwide as one of the most inspired singer, player and songwriter talents of the past decade.

POPSHeroic Pitbull Rescues Family in Assault, which Abandons Him at "Shelter"--part 2
I'd seen so many dogs leaving their kennels and never coming back that it made me wonder when it was going to be my turn to take my last walk down that long hallway. While I was in the shelter the doctor diagnosed me with heart worm she said this is something that I need to have medical treatment for to cure right away. I'm so relieved that a team of rescuers whom I have never met in MN are willing to save my life and find me a family to call my own. The staff at the shelter were very surprised that the lady whose life I saved never came back to return the favor or that my owners never came looking for me. Do you have room at your house for me ? I would love to have a nice yard to play in and my very own kid to cuddle up with. If it's not too much to ask I may need a sweater to keep me warm since I'm a southern boy who has never experienced winter. If you don't have a spare sweater for me that's ok a nice big place in your heart would even feel better. I'd seen so many dogs l

POPSHeroic Pitbull Rescues Family in Assault, which Abandons Him at "Shelter" I was afraid that he was going to hurt them so I did what any guy would do witnessing that kind of a dangerous situation. I was so proud of myself for doing such a good deed, everyone kept telling me how good of a boy I was for springing into action it felt amazing to be so appreciated by everyone who surrounded me at that moment. After the coward ran away I jumped in the back seat of her car and waited for the police to come and make sure this woman and her little boy were going to be safe. Then instead of her taking me home with her, she sent me with animal control. I could not believe it I was stuck in jail for being a hero, this was really confusing because I thought only bad guys go to jail not hero's. The lady I protected told the police that if my owners never came back to claim me that she would adopt me herself, but I never saw her again.
