POPSU.S. Military Hoped for Virtually Unlimited Freedom of Action in Iraq This was reported in June... According to Cockburn's reporting, "President Bush wants to push through by the end of so he can declare a military victory and claim his 2003 invasion has been vindicated." (Note 13) A prime beneficiary of the acceptance of a military agreement that the Iraqi people do not believe respects their rights or serves their interests would probably be the vast, privatized U.S. military/intelligence complex, positioned to profit from repressing the resistance sure to follow. If the Bush administration's goal is achieved through secret deals and pressure tactics it would only confirm the widespread view that its commitment to democracy is primarily self-serving. In Iraq as elsewhere there are many who would welcome a genuine American commitment to liberty and human rights but believe that U.S. actions contradict its rhetoric. So much to decipher here!

POPSFreeeeeedom! of Information (National Security Archive) So much information, great site! National Security Archive Electronic Briefing Books provide online access to critical declassified records on issues including U.S. national security, foreign policy, diplomatic and military history, intelligence policy, and more. Updated frequently, the Electronic Briefing Books represent just a small sample of the documents in our published and unpublished collections. A tax-exempt public charity, the Archive receives no U.S. government funding; its budget is supported by publication royalties and donations from foundations and individuals. On March 17, 2000, Long Island University named the National Security Archive as winner of a Special George Polk Award for 1999 for "piercing self-serving veils of government secrecy" and "serving as an essential journalistic resource."

POPSComputer visuses hit one million They say it is due to an increasingly professional digital criminal underground. Doesn't that just mean they're making increasing amounts of money? Looks like Vista is as infectious as Windows has ever been. I suppose it pays to become more well versed on the capability, and mechanisms of computer viruses, and watch out for them in addition to relying on antivirus programs. If my programs have found a virus trojan etc, I can't delete it until I've found out what I can about it. I don't remember having any real trouble since I started using firefox, but I'd be surprised if any could compete with some of the operator errors I've had to fix. It can be hard to fix something when the answer can be found on line, and the computer won't boot.

POPSBhutto sent Blitzer Security Email Only to be released if she was killed. Bhutto wasn't worried about al Qaeda. She could feel Musharraf breathing down her neck. I'm sure Musharraf resigned as leader of the army only after he was confident that he could win the election. A thorn by any other name is still a thorn. Bhutto was an unpredictable complication. BUT. They knew who committed the crime before it was committed. Ironic that she was on Stage. The more I see the actions of the 'leaders' today the more I'm reminded of Lady Macbeth. "Out Damned Spot" she wailed as she tried to wash the blood off her hands. The blood will never be washed off. The halls of power are becoming Stately mausoleums. "Whitewashed Tombs"

POPSTB - Tuberculosis - dreaded past plague or next one? So you thought TB, like Polio had been eradicated? Not! Wrong on both counts. The "terror" that the world's political leaders should be actively worried and working on to provide security for their peoples are the ancient terrors of disease and hunger! Security from those terrors would be better protection from those who might want to recruit your people to become a "terrorist."

POPSThink Tank: Climate Affects Security. People start to feel insecure when they can't breathe. They say 'Climate Scientists' underestimated how quickly the climate would change through fear of being alarmist. Now It's seen to be a threat to security, as 'Discovered' by the 'Think Tank' In the words of a septic tank "What a load of crap" The Deaf and Blind have decided to speak.

POPSAIPAC Agents Charged With Spying -- Rice and Neocons Subpoenaed Look at how the media covers this story below on "Rice Subpoenaed"". Journalism 101 says you headline the main subject, not the peripheral subjects. Let's cut through the double talk on this article that treats Israel, AIPAC and Jewish agents with kid gloves. Headline should read: "AIPAC Charged With Spying -- Rice and Neocons Subpoenaed". Now that would sell newspapers! Now the article goes on to say (listen to this), the lobbyist received information from a "now convicted Pentagon official and passed it on..." (why not name him?). That would be Larry Franklin, no? This article is designed to save AIPAC's arse from a Second round of public humiliation. Look at the special treatment of the "news" for AIPAC! You have to look so close to see the real story here. Notice that two major neocons--Armitage and Wolfowitz are not mentioned in headline either, just Rice. (AIPAC is certain that the neocons will lie for them).

POPSU.S. Nuclear Weapons Being “Guarded” by Israel
The neoconservatives, the "intelligence experts" (neocon propagandists), and the Bush/Cheney administration have been warning since 9/11 of "mushroom clouds", "dirty bombs", and "spectacular" terrorist events saying "its not if, its when". While the rhetoric ramped up along with alerts during critical legislation or 2004 elections, their threats (warnings, say they) should not be ignored. One of their chief suggestions has been that "nuclear weapons" could "fall into the hands of terrorists" (always Arab or Islamic fundamentalists they say) that "want to kill us all". This article at the site linked shows the extent of power Israel has over the United States, e.g. security at most all airports, phone records of all Americans through Amdocs, and now this! Then there are the key neoconservatives and/or Zionists they occupy key positions inside and outside U.S. gov't. Remember also the recent B52 Nuke "accident", and remember this article if a nuke ever detonates in the U.S.

POPSBlackwater likely to be reassigned "There is a mutual feeling that the Sept 16 shooting deaths, mean the company cannot continue in it's current role"US officials said. "No diplomats have died while riding in Blackwater's heavily armed convoys."(Surprise?) They are unlikely to be fired, but are likely to be reassigned-and kept on the payroll.

POPSBlackwater draws guns on U.S. Soldiers More: Testifying before Congress last week, 38-year-old Blackwater chief Erik Prince vigorously defended his company's "dedicated security professionals" In deflecting questions about a drunken Blackwater operative who allegedly shot and killed a bodyguard for Iraqi Vice President Adel Abdul Mahdi in the Green Zone on Christmas Eve last year, Prince said that the employee, later identified as Andrew Moonen, had been fined and fired. But on Friday House Oversight Committee chairman Rep. Henry Waxman released a letter to Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice recounting evidence that Moonen was able to return to Iraq and worked there for another company.

POPSForeign guards kill two women in Baghdad. The security company was unnamed. Blackwater were not involved, according to the U.S. Embassy, who said Blackwater only worked for them. Who it was will no doubt be revealed by Iraqi Authorities

POPSIraqi Authorities call for Blackwater Trial, and Compensation
Are they sending the FBI in to ensure Blackwater are removed and tried in American Courts, rather than Iraqi. They are 'Guests' in Iraq. Who's guests? Will the trial of some token elements of the war be used by Republicans to infer they have reformed. The BIG question I haven't heard them mentioned, but they are the cash cow. Can they use Blackwater to give Halliburton a low profile ? I was going to go on about Halliburton, but that may be better in another clip. Wikki can give a bit of an idea . Has any one heard of sending witnesses to the front line ? I suppose there's no point when you can get away with something by simply denying it. "Prove It" No they are responsible to the people. They are claiming innocence because there is no evidence either way but talk. That's Bullshit. The evidence is being methodically hidden or destroyed. Do those who started this war suffer in the slightest? No, they just collect blood money. Suffering is for the people.

POPSBush Admin urges Social Security fix The Economy has been fixed like a dog. Spend the pension fund in a chronic bout of pyromania, then go on as though things like that happen all the time. Reduce benefits, but cut taxes. The rich benefit from this war. They should pay for it. No, the pensioners and unemployed pay. If you don't wan't your benefits reduced join the Marines. If the U.S. goes bankrupt, the rich have it planned. They have moved the money offshore, and kept the debt in the U.S. When the U.S. is declared banktupt, they can bunker down until the debt is discharged, then bring the money back. Dubai is a lovely place for a long holiday, no expenses spared.

POPSIraq concedes possible 'Security Vacuum' Blackwater resumed guarding a reduced number of U.S. convoys on Firiday. Iraqis say new rules must be put in place. So they've got the U'.S. military covering Iraq, and they have a 'security vacuum'. They'll need more troops
