I have read several of Tom Harpers books and have found him to be one of the most honest Anglican Priests I have ever met in book and person. What we find now is that the literal interpretation of the Bible is producing a very dangerous culture, focused in the US where military culture and war are often seen as part and parcel of the religious right's political theology.

POPSTHE BEST SCI FI BEING WRITTEN TODAY Robert Sawyer is so far ahead of most of the rest of contemporary Speculative Fiction writers you would have to travel FTL in order to catch up to him. What is so striking about his works is the totally fresh thinking, and his willingness to ask hard questions about Life the Universe and Everything. Sorry the answer isn't 42 as once was humourously speculated. My favourites are his Neanderthal Trilogy and his novel Calculating God. He is subtle not pedantic, caring through his characters, and rigorous with his science background.

POPSGrumpy I was in Algonquin Provincial Park in Ontario Canada when I came to a Moose Jam. ie there was a moose near the road and everyone was stopped taking photos. I had my telephoto on and took lots of photos of the Moose. But this is my prize photo. Wish I knew who she was

POPSNow Thats A Good Kitty Cairo Zoo I was being given a tour through the Cairo Zoo by one of the keepers when he asked me if I had ever held a lion. "Held a Lion" I said in my most stunned manner. I guess he took it as a NO and he flipped this cage with a mother and cub open, grabbed the cub and plunked it into my hands. (all 40kg of Him) I noted the mother was watching me very very closely, so I made soothing sounds and then handed the cub to my wife.
